I have always loved UT3 for being one of the best Single-Player "DeathMatch" games every made. With decent bot AI, tons of really well made user maps and skins, and huge customization options, I still gladly play it to this day, as nothing ever came along to take it's place. It is frustrating that it's removed from Steam and I can't buy it for my girlfriend so we can play together (except of course to take a 300$ or more chance on eBay to get an old physical copy key). This is frustrating and ridiculous to me. Why stop yourself from making more sales on a timeless and amazing game? I may never understand. It is a crying shame that the video game business today is about business, and not the gamers or the games themselves. This game will forever be my all time favorite... until they find a business reason to remove it from my library, I suppose.

Unreal Tournament 3 is a fast-paced arena shooter that focuses on raw movement skill, map control, and chaotic multiplayer combat. The gunplay feels solid, with satisfying weapons and strong momentum-based movement that rewards experience. The campaign is basically a structured intro to multiplayer modes rather than a narrative-driven experience. Multiplayer is where the game shines, though its community has largely faded compared to its peak. Verdict: a polished but slightly underappreciated entry in the series; excellent arena shooter fundamentals, best enjoyed with friends or bots today.
Kind of a mess and not up to the pedigree of its predecessors. What bothers me the most are its visuals -- it feels like every scene and model has ten thousand bits of unnecessary extra detail added.
VERY COOL GAME! EU VCTF PRO SERVER STILL LIVES.

this is what epic is planning with UT As of 2026, Epic Games has no active plans to revive or update Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3). While there were previous indications of a comeback, the current status is as follows: Cancelled Revitalization: In late 2022, Epic updated the Unreal Tournament 3 Steam page (now delisted) with references to a free-to-play version titled Unreal Tournament 3 X. This version was intended to feature cross-play between Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. However, this project was reportedly cancelled in 2023. Server Shutdown: Official master servers for the original UT3, along with several other Unreal titles, were permanently shut down on January 24, 2023. Current Availability: The game has been delisted from most major digital storefronts. Fans looking to play online must rely on community-made solutions like the Open Spy patch or the GSpatch, which redirect the game to third-party master servers. Epic's Focus: Epic Games has largely shifted its development and infrastructure resources toward Fortnite and the growth of the Unreal Engine. Reddit
