Sooo... it's a 3h game. It has a lot of plot twists and a "good" ending. The "minigames" are fine ( a little bit easy). I liked how the game shows some of the big questions about AI (like death or free will). Buying this game (if you don't have this genre) is worth it ;)
better than the original unhack game, best chill puzzle game, and best chill anime puzzle game nothing like it
That was so messed up and glorious, havent been forced to feel like that since ddlc. absolutely phenominal.

Story is full of twist and turns! It's an amazing journey! Would recommend to anyone that likes visual novels based on tech or futuristic scenarios. Puzzles are challenging but not to hard. Overall a great game to play if you have an afternoon free for a good story.
///PLEASE PLAY THE DEMO BEFORE PURCHASING! /// This is more like a novel, I must say. The story is wonderful and the characters have more emotions compared to the first Unhack game. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that the game elements are reduced. Although there are some new mechanics, there was only 10 levels throughout this 3-hours long journey. It's a hard decision of whether I should give a thumbs-up of down... It's a 50% and 50% in my opinion. You should really play through the demo a bit before making the decision.
What a ride. Up until Chapter ~4, Unhack 2 manages to be overwhelmingly mediocre, being a strange sci-fi romp, if you go in blind - or being a failure as a sequel to Unhack 1 on all accounts: no characters are voiced, characters are less expressive & move less than they do in the first game, gameplay is much more sparse & simplified, the plot is boring & superficial, while also having almost nothing to do with the prequel. By this time, I almost quit the VN for good, 3 times. I'm glad I didn't. After a great plot twist, the entire project comes together spectacularly well. Unhack 2 features & emphasizes a number of genuinely heartwarming & sweet moments, but also explores heavier themes like one's mortality, one's sense of self-preservation, & what makes one human. The concepts of death & legacy wouldn't really fit into this kind of story, I'd think, but InvertMouse fully commits & it shows. The cast is pretty constrained, but everyone shows growth & development - with some having unique touches & others subverting tropes entirely. To put it succinctly, once I cleared Chapter 4, I finished the rest of the game in one sitting. The biggest issue Unhack 2 has is that it tries to implement jargon, but butchers it in almost the worst way possible (fortunately, it's not really an issue from Chapter 4 onwards). In other words, it uses a bunch of computer & programming terminology - which will either be too technical for you to understand, or you'll know what it means - & that's not how it works at all. One of its greatest strengths, besides the writing after the big plot twist, is how creative it is & can be: some interesting concepts are explored & their implementation is unique. The couple big examples being:
AI characters lowering in resolution as they succumb to viruses
, along with
fake errors & gibberish (with fonts to match) as they crash
& different designs
such as a "Retro" AI "hospital" which looks like it was made in Paint (but with fitting AI in the same area)
. I just wish they experimented with & explored that a little more. If you can tough out the first half, I fully recommend this VN. But it's a bit of a trudge. What it explores afterwards more than makes up for it. If you played the first Unhack, it's great to catch up with the old cast, as well as see the minor callbacks & references to earlier events. If you haven't played it, there isn't enough to feel like you're missing anything, so it doesn't negatively affect the experience. Overall, a lot of fun - you can spend a lot more on a lot worse out there.
原本只是冲着封面和第一部的续集来的 到结尾发现,上一个让我推完感触颇深的还是eden 除了没有配音以外都很好,8年前的作品仍非常能打
Puzzles are skippable. No choices, straight read. Short but good.
