Don’t buy it, the game is ceasing production after it’s final hot fix March 8th https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1064120/view/4161959930707614811?l=english Edit: They said they were in talks with Steam about letting us refund, nothing yet and they recently nuked their discord server.
Edit: Has become abandonware. I bought this crap for $33.85 just to play a broken game 6 weeks before it was abandoned and reduced to $9.99. Follow Dev comment below for refund! Spent nearly two and a half hours combing through the introduction of the game and it has the greatest depth of any RPG I've ever played. You can convince anyone to join your party, attack others, meet you somewhere. etc. There are factions to join and every decision affects the game world. That however, comes at a cost. Several dialogue features are missing such as the "Talk To" dialogue option which is not functional. You can repeatedly roll for "insight" when initiating a conversation with someone until you succeed which allows you to reveal one of their characteristics, and/ or relationships. Bizarrely, normal conversation does not reveal any new details despite the new information about said character being obtained. Frustratingly, any failed roll from the "Tell Me About" option which occasionally does reveal new information about a character, will lock that character from telling you anything more about anyone. In addition to this, it seems a large contingent, if not, a majority of the character traits/ relationships have not been implemented or input correctly. The last thing about the social aspect of the game is that I was able to walk past two "guards" for certain sections of this introductory story by simply telling them to "run away" despite the fact that this is highly unrealistic in reality, as they had zero reason to defy their professional obligations. Combat is normal for a CRPG, although exceedingly vague to the point where I'm uncertain which actions I will be allowed to take during my turn. For example, I moved one mage-like character and could no longer attack with him, whereas I was able to move my own character and fire both (two attacks) of the pistols I was duel wielding. During the introductory conflict with two factions that appeared as though they would begin fighting each other, I chose a side and killed the opposite faction. The characters I killed had their appreciation drop to zero, (which should be meaningless since they're dead now) but for whatever reason my reputation with both factions remained the same. In fact, the faction I assisted gave me many thanks, but their individual appreciation did not increase, either. When the battle ended I also got a notification about a potential quest (?) that never appeared in my journal, and another notification telling me that citizens just witnessed me murder others. I'm not sure if this is because I initiated combat without speaking to anyone, or if this is an oversight. Lastly, I had trouble with the loading screens from one region to the next. Exiting the sewers caused a weird glitch in my game where I was seeing some sort of unpolished display and re-entering the train gives me a loading screen that never resolves itself rendering the rest of the game unplayable. TLDR; This title is aiming for an incredible amount of depth, but has not fully achieved such a feat in its current incomplete state. I would recommend waiting for several patches and updates before purchasing. The roadmap at least seems feasible and the developers are attempting a 1.0 release by next year. I'll update this review accordingly.

Studio shut down project just a over a month into release. Great potential Didn't sell well enough to keep the company afloat so that's it for this one. Sad.
DEV studio went bankrupt and thus stopped support for this game. Game is incomplete and still very much an "early access", incomplete game. It's a shame, it had potential, needed a lot of polish and more content though. Maybe worth it if you can get for $1 and have low expectations. Lesson learned though, no more Early Access games, $20 for 25% ready/complete game that Steam won't refund.
Let us refund. Two months ago this game was $35 with a team actively working on it. Now that team is gone and this will no longer be developed. Despite only playing 20 minutes of the game my refund was denied due to it being a month after purchase. If I'd known development was going to shut down I would have requested a refund much earlier, but I was under the impression that this game would be developed further and receive significant updates. Now the dev team is non-existent and this game is now $10 because they "have to keep it up for sale due to the investors." To say that I'm disappointed and feel lied to would be a massive understatement.
Been of fan of Spearhead Games' Omensight and Stories and seeing them going big with this game had me excited. Definitely see their touch on this game, the passion they put into it really shows through. I haven't gotten too far yet but the character building was more in depth than I was expecting, the game world looks great, story so far has been good. It is EARLY ACCESS. And that EA is "alpha/beta" not "play the game early". So keep that in mind before picking up.
Played for over an hour no crashes or major bugs yet. One annoying thing is that your companions are set to wait without you ordering them too A nice surpise is that it is based on dnd mechanics I didn know it was but it felt right at home with me Something that Ive noticed after recruiting random npcs to the team is that they are far inferior too the storyline npcs you are getting so why have the option anyway? Well maybe after some time you can recruit some powerful dude so it will make sense I also would like to up the difficulty just a little as most mobs die too easy All in all the game shows promise and by looking at the roadmap it is supposed to stay in EA only one year so good luck to the devs
As you can tell by my time, I didn't play for very long. There is a reason for that. It wasn't the graphics or the general story. In fact, this game looks like it will be great - once it is polished. No, it was the pathing and lack of ease of certain core functions. For example: A new NPC joined my group. Pressing I allows you to see your character's skills, loots, and equipment. But what about the NPC? I could see their loot, but not their skills and equipment. Perhaps there is another way, but in most games, it's all in one place. With that said, this game looks like it will be awesome once basic features are fixed. The pathing really frustrated me, and I didn't even walk that far. I kept getting stuck on other NPCs or walking into things. I often support games in early access, but the price is a bit steep for lack of certain features at the moment. I've refunded, but will take a look at it again in the future once several updates have occurred. Good luck!
It was an interesting premise, but given the game's now dead and won't be finished, it's an easy can't recommend. You'd just be funding out the scumbag investors who refused to see the project through, not the development team, so don't bother
I will preface this review by saying: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME Unfortunately the company can't continue the development as they failed to secure funds, and as a result has layed off several employees and stopped the development. With all that being said, Witchstone had a great concept, an interesting storyline and worldbuilding, with a very fun gameplay for any RPG lovers, the influence system was a great thing to explore and the classes were all good and fun. My positive review is this a positive review of a game that had great potential, it is not a endorsement nor a recomendation to buy it. If this project ever gets back on its leg, it will be worth a try.
