Enjoyed the game until I saw the lack of action by the developer.
这黄油版泡泡龙还挺有意思的,用SD玩完了当下的关卡,一直期待后续内容,可惜貌似已经凉了。
Great game!! much better story than I expected to see, along with some really fun gameplay. it's a connect 3 game with some twists that make it fun. The story is hilarious and the characters are intriguing... and also hot.
Under Contract is a distinctive indie puzzle title developed and published by Kinky Fridays that takes a familiar arcade foundation and recontextualizes it through an eccentric narrative lens. At a glance, it presents itself as a match-three game, but it quickly becomes clear that it is far more kinetic and demanding than the genre’s casual reputation might suggest. The game blends fast-paced, skill-driven puzzle mechanics with a surreal, satirical storyline, resulting in an experience that feels part arcade survival challenge and part narrative experiment. The core gameplay revolves around a vertical match-three system that prioritizes precision and quick decision-making. Rather than simply swapping tiles, players actively grab, throw, and reposition falling orbs to create vertical matches before the stack overwhelms the playfield. This design places constant pressure on the player, demanding attention, timing, and spatial awareness in equal measure. The emphasis on vertical alignment fundamentally changes how puzzles are approached, encouraging proactive manipulation of the board rather than reactive clearing. As difficulty ramps up, hazards and special tiles begin to appear, forcing players to adapt strategies on the fly and preventing the gameplay loop from becoming overly predictable. Progression through the game is structured around a map-based system that connects puzzle encounters with story moments and optional paths. This structure gives a sense of momentum and choice, as players decide which encounters to tackle and when to push forward. Between puzzle sequences, the game unfolds its narrative through dialogue and illustrated scenes, framing the protagonist’s journey as a bizarre corporate ordeal with supernatural overtones. The story leans heavily into absurdity and satire, portraying work contracts and obligations in exaggerated, otherworldly terms. While the writing does not aim for subtlety, it provides a consistent thematic thread that ties the gameplay together and gives players a reason to keep advancing beyond the immediate challenge of clearing puzzles. Character interactions and unlockable companions add another layer of variety to the experience. These companions can alter gameplay through unique abilities or modifiers, subtly changing how players approach certain encounters. Choosing which companion to bring into a sequence becomes a strategic decision, especially as stages grow more punishing and resource management becomes more important. This system introduces light tactical planning without overwhelming the core arcade focus, ensuring that the puzzle mechanics remain the main attraction. Visually, Under Contract adopts a colorful and expressive style that balances clarity in the puzzle grid with personality in its narrative scenes. The playfield is easy to read even during chaotic moments, which is crucial given the speed at which decisions must be made. Character art and story illustrations are stylized and exaggerated, reinforcing the game’s comedic and surreal tone. While visual consistency can vary between gameplay and narrative segments, the overall presentation succeeds in giving the game a recognizable identity that stands apart from more generic puzzle titles. Audio design supports the frenetic nature of the gameplay with energetic music and responsive sound effects. The soundtrack helps maintain tension during intense puzzle sequences, while audio cues provide valuable feedback for successful matches or looming danger. Outside of gameplay, music and sound design shift to suit the tone of narrative scenes, reinforcing the satirical atmosphere without overwhelming dialogue or pacing. One of the defining aspects of Under Contract is how unapologetically niche it is. Its blend of adult-oriented themes, surreal humor, and demanding arcade mechanics means it is not designed for a broad casual audience. The narrative content is clearly aimed at players comfortable with mature themes, while the puzzle difficulty curve assumes a willingness to fail, learn, and improve through repetition. This combination can be polarizing, but it also gives the game a strong sense of identity and purpose. As a whole, Under Contract is best understood as an experimental hybrid rather than a conventional match-three title. It takes inspiration from classic arcade puzzle games and infuses them with narrative ambition and thematic boldness. While it may not appeal to players seeking a relaxed or purely strategic puzzle experience, it offers something genuinely different for those who enjoy fast-paced gameplay paired with offbeat storytelling. Its strengths lie in its mechanical intensity, willingness to experiment, and commitment to its unusual premise, making it a memorable entry within the indie puzzle space for players aligned with its tone and challenge. Rating: 7/10
LOVE the game however probably don't but it until they update the game, last update was almost two years ago, dev team is small but hope they finish the game or at least get another update in soon
Thess guys suck they can't even be bothered to put an update on Steam i super recreate buying this one on early access this is the first one I've participated in that the Creaters are just idiots that either have no idea how to properly run an early access and a studios or there to scammers that stole our money and ran.
