Game looks fine, but physics are a joke. Also pretty boring, maybe someday it will be good. Much to improve
Inability to mute game volume is an automatic no go and no game should enter Early Access without something as basic as that.
Fun stuff, but it is quite problematic to actually throw. I am representing most of the player base (3 estonian guys). Please fix.
First thing first, I want to say that I think it is wonderful that we have a disc golf game in the works! I have been playing disc golf for about a year and a half now, and have gotten seriously into it in the last 6 or 7 months, and love everything about it. With that being said, this game is still quite far away from being a full-fledged game, and I believe the developers acknowledge this. I hope to be able to communicate with them, and play to join the Discord channel. Initial thoughts: I purchased this game last night, and have about 4 hours of game play now. I have streamed it for a handful of friends, and they think that it is pretty cool and has a lot of potential, which I happen to agree with. This game honestly looks exactly like PUBG if PUBG had disc golf in it. The character customization is pretty cool, and I probably spent 40 minutes just creating my character. One thing I noticed is that the heavy rock/metal music that plays at start up and when you go to the menu does not go away even if you lower the master volume. This is a little frustrating, as I would like to listen to my own music and not have it be an issue while launching the game. Moving around and finding the tee pads can be confusing at first, but the teleport option with Y comes in clutch. You can pull out various items to carry around like pistols, bows, a barrel, torch, etc., which is pretty random, but also very comical. However, these are pretty buggy also and need to be improved, as the rifle goes right through your chest, and your character holds this pistol in a very strange manner. I actually really like the throwing and flight mechanics. Aiming and releasing with the correct power are tough to get used to, but once you play for a little while, you will improve significantly. The drivers are 13 speed, but the mid ranges are 12 speed? This does not make sense, and I would definitely like the flight numbers to be assessed more accurately in the future. Putting is tough. I still have not mastered it yet, but it seems a little finicky, as it seems difficult to find a middle ground between too much and too little power. I will keep practicing, but I think this may need to be adjusted in some way. Also, there is an option to just tap the Right Mouse Button to tap the disc in when you are right next to the basket. I have noticed that I have received this option when I am maybe 25 ft. away (not necessarily a gimme putt), but sometimes not when I am closer, including a time when I was directly under the basket. I found this to be frustrating, but hopefully it will be fixed. I do not like that you can walk on water. If your disc goes into the water, you just walk right over to it and keep playing. I don't think you even get an extra stroke for going OB. Also, twice on Chestnut Lake, I threw close to max power from hole 5, and landed in the water. I could walk over to the disc, but the game froze both times, and I had to close out. Therefore, I have not been able to get passed hole 5 on this course. This also happened one time when I shanked into the trees of hole 11 of Sunny Birch one time. I would like to see a more sophisticated score card in the future, that tells you the pars of every hole, and indicates how far above or below par you are. I also think when you play an afternoon game, it switches to night time and gets dark way too early. I would love to see this change as well. I think that I mentioned just about everything. I plan to continue playing, and am optimistic that this game will be successful in the near future. I will update the Discord accordingly as well. I hope that my feedback is appreciated, and look forward to seeing improvements!
the game is only in alpha and there are bugs, but its easy to learn. im using asus gaming laptop i5 with 1050 ti graphic card. It lags but i am below recomended requirments with the graphic card. nice physics to the game but midrange boards are as fast as long range speed 7 would be better. As a real disc golfer i can only look forward to the end product keep up the great work on developing this game...
Long time disc golfer, and literally nothing about this game does it justice. I've checked back in multiple times over the past few months to check out the game's progress, and while more content is being added, the controls are so horrific that is kills any enjoyment you could get from the game, or any semblance of real disc golf. You have a very limited number of lines you can throw on, angle adjustment for the disc is pretty much nonexistent, and if it works at all, it gives wildly unpredictable results. And if you are navigating a settings menu, your character will just throw in the background....supremely disappointed.
Controls are too complex. Runs like crap. Save your money.
*Update* I can't believe the dev gave up on this... I've supported since day 1, in the discord... now it's been totally abandoned. This could've been special. *UPDATE* It's been 3 months since my original review and I just wanted to say this game is coming along PERFECTLY! Constant updates, constant improvements and the game plays amazingly... It's already the best Disc Golf game ever made BY FAR! *Original Review* This game may be in Alpha-Stage, but you can already tell it's gona be an insane, beautiful game once it's finished! It's super fun to play how it is, a huge update is coming soon which is sure to add even more great improvements! This game is super cheap @ $10 and it's definitely worth every penny! I also wanted to add that anyone who wants to know the direction the game is going to go and what the overall game plan is for this game, all you need to do is watch some Youtube videos and you'll see with the devs latest update video that this game is going to do everything the right way! Character creation will eventually be super in-depth with tons of outfits, accessories & body options for your create-A-character... multiplayer will be in real-time, as in you can see other players throwing their discs, just like you would in real life at an actual course! There will be a progression system with the single player campaign that will reward you with unlockables and perks! There will be add-on courses and DLC down the line, along with a lot of other great content! THERE WILL BE VR SUPPORT... need I say anything more!!! Basically, the devs game-plan for the near future of this game is to bring us something that has never really been done with a sports game before, the immersion factor is gona be INSANE!!!
Was super excited about this game but clearly has been abandoned at this point. Had cool features but game is broken in places that desperately needed fixing.
Most likely the worst game ever. I created a black man and selected it to play with it but I got a WHITE man instead of black man. Also "Next-Gen Graphics" looks like ♥♥♥♥
