About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.

My PC cant run a lot of the newer games. Its nice that this game feels good to play and also play smoother on older rigs. Very fun game and I will be purchasing Founders for no other reason I appreciate this game AS IS and look forward to its evolution!
can be fun sometimes but gameplay is ruined by horrible balance and questionable game-design choices. Maybe next year after they figure out what the game is going to be, but not today.

Delete the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid dumb character named Ark and the game will be perfect. Still a positive review because the games without Ark are so much fun, great game. Take the opportunity that the game is in early access and straight up delete Ark, we'll act up like it never existed at all.

Amazing game, I'm not a big fan of WoT or WT but this game is my jam. The tanks are all interesting, game is mooostly well balanced (valor is a turd tank to deal with still). There's enough build variety, and the alpha program where you can try newest tanks after unlocking all core tanks is pretty neat (already loving Fuse). Maps could be bigger though and bit better designed, but overall a very nice game to pop in, pvp a bit, the bail out. (Or binge like we do.) I hope they increase squad size to 4 at least.
I won't make this long, but I will make it to support the Devs how I can. I think Tyr is an excellent arcade Vehicle shooter, a genre I always wish was more populated. I truly think the team hit it out of the park for game, it delivers on what I believe their intention is. TLDR: this is the CS -> Valorant version of vehicle shooters, a hero shooter but for tanks, and this is not in a derogatory sense. The quality of life, the barrier to entry is lowered significantly compared to its peers, and not being limited to realism makes this game fun and exiting in my opinion. Tyr delivers a concise, fun, relatively balanced and enjoyable environment for a vehicle shooter. It's very communicative with stat in-game, armor layouts, the addition of an amor overlay while in sniper-mode is a genius way to make the game much much less frustrating for new players and experienced players the like. There is still plenty to learn and get better at without having to guess or go through stats pages trying to figure out and calculate hit chance, spot chance and a whole bunch of other mechanics that just drags games like World of Tanks down. The limited maps seems fair and interesting and I look forward to the potentially limitless types of tanks and maps they can add to the game end up being. I'm not sure what the entire content pipeline looks like for this game, if it just ends up being a standard and ranked mode, with added maps and vehicles, that is still plenty with the gameplay loop being interesting and rewarding enough as is to play this casually or more intently. Anything else they might think of adding, different prospective game modes, more customization or anything among the works is icing on the cake. I hope this game does well, and considering it is free, I think almost anyone should at the very least give it a go. I hope they find a way to make the game last long and have multiple ways of supporting, I do NOT want another WOT/Wargaming freemium style, but I do want to support the game in ways that I can. Thank you Tyr :)
Really recommend giving this a try. It's really an easy to pick up game that has a lot of depth and it's difficult to put it down. Matches are fun and fast paced, it's very polished even though it's just early access. AND it's only 3.5GB ;)
So I put about 50 hours into the demo that isn't shown here. Trust me when I tell you this game is so worth picking up (and its free). You know the basics from the game page so here's some implicit stuff: - The devs have promised all gameplay elements will never cost real money, money will only apply to cosmetics (YESSSSS REALLY) - The game is BALANCED AND FAIR and I'm not joking or being sarcastic, genuinely it's so much fun to get it right after many matches of practice. Mispositioning is quickly punished, but game rotations are fast and low stakes (see next point) - This is a PvP game that cycles quickly with relatively low stakes - matches are at maximum 10 minutes long (timer), queues are near-instant (unless it's 4am and you q ranked), and the average game lasts 3-5 minutes before you either win or die. 8v8 format means there is loads of room for co-operative plays and for everyone to get their moment to shine. - Winning is based on strategy over reaction time, and REQUIRES teamwork. There is a level of "playing fast and loose" that is a strategy to employ, but well-thought-out tactical decisions will almost always triumph (even if "just send it" is the choice :) ) Without your team, you are only part of the winning machine, not the whole. Don't expect LoL or CSGO levels of being able to power-carry matches, it just isn't possible (which is great for non-pro players like me and my friends) - The game is quick to learn, intuitive, easy to share, and difficult to master. Near-perfection of game design. Armor profiles lead into intuitive positioning, angling, and a balance of suppression and taking ground. Different armor penetration values mean some tanks simply cannot harm others from poor angles - flanking or a teammate is required to win that fight, which leads to beautiful games, setups, and teamwork, plus loads of creative solutions. - Roles are clearly defined but not restrictive. Heavies can be top damage even if they have marksman. Lights can be top kill count even if all they did was flank and spot enemies. etc. Playing how you enjoy to makes you more practiced and effective - and you get more rewards for it. - THERE IS SO MUCH BUILD CUSTOMIZATION: note, it does take progression steps and time commitment to unlock access to said customization, but it's treated as a "mastery" of the tank(s) to reach those tiers, and maxing out your potential (at tank lvl 20) is when you are able to bring that tank into ranked - therefore everyone is at "max power" in ranked, and standard is for practice, low stakes, and levelling up. 10/10, the grind really isn't bad at all once you figure out the basics. - The maps are really neat. They are not symmetric, and have loads of nooks, crannies, bushes, hideouts, tight corners, open fields, and more to learn how to play what tank where into which matchup... the replayability is healthy despite a current limit on the maps of only 5 being available, but more are promised and the next is already teased (NIGHT MAP NIGHT MAP). Also, remember to watch out for "anomalous bushes". They are suspicious. P.S. These are some of the most communicative, responsive, respectful, and based developers out there. Give them some love, they earned it. They are already impressed with the community size and success of their passion project. Thanks Stoke, keep up the amazing work! (and thanks for reading my review I love this game)
Take World of Tanks: Blitz, give it a sci-fi coat of paint, removed tiered progression and add a dash of hero-shooter special abilities, and you've got Tyr.
