This game scratches all the right spots for a sim-management game that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's got missions that involve strategy as well as chance, silly puns and cartoon animations of visitors getting eaten by giant man-eating plants and being spit out as clowns. I have enjoyed Zooseum and Arty-Facts the most from the expansion packs. I also like that it's reasonably priced. One of my favorites.
super easy and fun! I love the creativity in the exhibits. I wish there was better decorating options and the ability to have different floors would be awesome! I was trying to complete the base game before I buy any expansions so its kinda annoying that for the fantasy expeditions you pretty much need to purchase in order to play most of it
I think this is probably my most played game. I pick it up after every DLC and enjoy it as much as I did the first time I played it. I have almost 500 hours on this game and still going strong. Even my cat loves it and drives me crazy when I open crates, pawing my screen.
This game is actually brilliant. Feels like a good cross between the complexity of classic manager sims while still being simple for decorations (The complexity of designing a zoo in planet zoo turned me off). The game doesn't take itself seriously (like the classic zoo tycoon back when we bought PC games at walmart on disc). But that's just fine. The decor and design options feel pretty varied and visually appealing. The game splits into various specialties such as paleontology, botany, marine, etc. But each specialty has its own unique quirks, its not just a "reskin" of the previous specialty, which I appreciate. The game also does a great job of slowly introducing concepts. In fact, I've made it decently far and I JUST unlocked another aspect of the game that I didn't anticipate at 18 hours in. So I just bought all the DLCs because I know I'm gonna love this all the way through. There are minor quirks with the guest pathfinding, nothing game breaking, though and that's to be expected to some extent.
The most expansive and original management game I've played in years, and perhaps one of the greatest of all time. Two Point Museum explores a fresh setting for a game of the genre, and manages to translate it into interesting and fun mechanics - having a minigame to obtain your exhibits, rather than just buying them outright, adds a whole new layer of gameplay to the staff that you need to send on this expeditions, and another layer of optional micromanagement with obtaining the highest rarity exhibits while avoiding the worst events. The campaign structure is also innovative, letting you freely choose to develop whichever of the museums you like while gently guiding you to spread your attention a bit. An excellent game oozing craft and love with an impressive amount of content and tolerance for both casual and focused play alike.
Got the game after playing on a free weekend. I am now addicted.
TL;DR It's a great game and all, just not for me. The main "campaign" felt like an endless tutorial, constantly making me reorder and remanage my whole museum. 6/10 The Good Visuals: Vibrant with colors and active characters making your museums feel alive. It's definitely fun to look at how your customers interact with the objects you've placed Gameplay: Everything ones smoothly, and it does give you a constant sense of progression (for better or worse). There's so much variety in the things you get and different types of museums. The Bad Gameplay: It keeps giving you a constant stream of new things that I feel like I'm going through a convoluted tech tree checklist the whole game. Expeditions to unlock things are fine, but then requiring certain quests in your museum to even attempt them, and also adding micro management for adding perks to stuff is bleh.
