Twistingo: Hummingbird Haven Collector's Edition

Hobby game, board games, cards, tile game, object search, nature, full of colour. We are on the wonderful island "Hummingbird Haven" where beautiful hummingbirds live happily immersed in nature full of colorful flowers and plants. But one bad day the unforeseeable happens: a solar eclipse causes a great storm, leaving the island devastated. The life of the hummingbirds is in danger, we must help them: rebuild their nests, look for the lost eggs, and restore the island to its natural conditions. This version of Twistingo is also the same as the previous ones, we can relax with object search sections, Bingo, and a new feature has been added: "Zen Mahjong"! But don't expect the classic Mahjong here there is a more complete and fun version. By completing the levels we add pieces to the island map and earn coins which will be used to purchase collectibles useful for the island's inhabitants. But how to earn more coins? Easy, just click on the "Gameroom" section where you will find simple and fun minigames that will let you win lots of coins, and relax with card solitaire games. Music is always beautiful and pleasant to listen to. When you finish the game you will unlock "Bonus content" where you can find: 6 Bingo blitz 9 Zen Mahjong 6 Tile matching 9 Solitaire collections I recommend it, it's a beautiful trip to a tropical island, there are beautiful photos of beautiful landscapes and nature, a true relaxation and pleasure for the eyes and mind, accompanied by restful music. [h1]HUMM-DINGER OF A GAME![/h1] Just when you think a game couldn't get any better, Mixo Games adds another Twist to the Twistingo game series by adding one of my favorite variations of Mahjong!   Normally, I'd categorize Mahjong as my least favorite genre, but that changed when I played Lost Amulets: Garden Stones. In this version, you aren't just matching two free tiles to remove them, you are clicking on tiles that match the ones shown on the bottom. If a tile has multiple matches available, you continue removing them, but if you wait too long, the next tile appears in its place. I think this is way more exciting than just matching two tiles at a time, as in a traditional Mahjong game.   [b]Alas, Twistingo isn't just a Mahjong game...[/b]    Twistingo is also a Hidden Object game but with a twist. The camera angle is probably the first thing you'll notice because it's as if you are standing and looking down at the objects. The second thing that catches your eye is the uniqueness of the objects themselves. These aren't junk items thrown into a pile on a table in the corner of a room or random household items scattered around the scene. At first glance, it seems as though there are only a handful of objects, but there are layers and layers to uncover by matching two identical objects at a time. The second HO variation has the same multi-layered style, but in this mode, you must remove multiples of each object listed on strips of paper. As you remove these objects, you'll also uncover more strips of paper with even more objects to find. The HO scenes are like a multi-layered, multi-faceted, complex hidden object scavenger hunt! The goal is to uncover Pearls, Bingo Balls, or Mahjong Tiles. [b]Twistingo doesn't stop there...[/b]  It's also a Bingo game where you remove Balls before they reach the mouth of the demon. Each level has 1-3 different Bingo Cards. Instead of filling in the Bingo Card, you remove them by selecting the identical ball (color AND Number). You can click on the ball itself or select the number/color on the bingo card itself. If you click on a ball that hasn't arrived yet, the line will inch forward toward the mouth slot.   There is also a variation where you have to remove matching images. In this version, the stones won't reach the demon's mouth, but if you hesitate too long, the demon will add another stone to your pile. The goal is to uncover the nest and save the Hummingbirds. Both versions spew out coins as balls are removed, but they must be clicked on before they disappear. [b]We're not done yet...[/b]  The Coins you earn are used to purchase restorations of Hummingbird Haven. Coins can also be used to purchase Game Room tickets to play various mini-games, such as Solitaire, Pachinko, or a game where you must guess if the next slot will be lower or higher. Great game, stunning graphics, Mixo apparently read reviews of their older Twistingo games and made adjustments here which improved the overall gaming experience. Not as many bingo ball rounds this time, a good mix of activities and nice voice acting and storyline. Really a winner!

Man... I don't know about this one. As far as I can tell, this game is awash with AI generated content, from scene backgrounds, character voices, normal assets, and even collectibles. Valve's AI generated content policy went effective for developers about a month [i]after[/i] this game was released, so it can skirt by without adding any disclaimers or other notices on the page. I think this is a perfectly serviceable casual game, but I can't help but feel icky when playing it. How do I know where the AI art stops and the bespoke content begins? If my feel-good game is powered by content that is arguably plagiarized, blended up, and slopped back to me, can I really feel good about it? It all feels so... disingenuous to be selling a cute game about environmental rehabilitation while also using exploitative content. It looks like MixoGames has been using this strategy for the entire Twistingo series, which helps explain how a (seemingly) solo dev is able to pump out 3 games in a year. But at what cost? I'm regrettably going to refund this, and will be steering away from this dev in the future. What a shame.

The newest Twistingo installment diversifies the game offerings by including the mahjong gameplay first featured in the Lost Amulets series. You are tasked with restoring an island paradise once again, this time to preserve the hummingbirds which have been threatened by storms that also wreaked havoc on the local people. The story is voiced-over for the most part, but less intrusive this time around, as there isn't as much dialog as compared to the previous game. An assortment of colorful HOS in which the list is embedded in the scene and gradually reveals itself as you go along, plus pick-2 clutter HOS scenes are the primary focus of the game, but you get a couple of marble-popping levels per "chapter". One MP type is to click on either the number on the bingo card or the matching numbered ball until all the cards have been cleared, and the other is a pick the stone with the matching icon as a chain of icons rolls along on a track to uncover a bird nest. Changing things up a bit is the inclusion of a mahjong game in each "chapter" with the unique mechanic of clicking on tiles in the "stack" which match one of the tiles in the tray at the bottom. This method of playing is far better than the usual pick 2 tiles mechanic used in most mahjong games and means you never have to worry about having to reshuffle the "stack" numerous times to win, or getting that dreaded 2 tiles stacked atop each other impossible situation at the very end. You earn gold coins from playing, which are used to buy items for improving the island. More gold can be won by going to the "game room", where there are higher-lower solitaire games, a guess the higher-lower card slot machine type game, and a ball-breaking game sort of like a Pachinko machine. I don't know how many different layouts there are of each game in the game room, but I played it for at least a couple of hours before I saw any repeats. There are 3 different difficulty options to play in, but overall it's a pretty chill game even on the hardest difficulty because I didn't struggle much on the majority of the MP levels even on the hardest setting. The hidden objects are cleverly disguised as there can be different versions of something, or you have to think of multiple meanings for a word in the list to figure it out. The mahjong games are not timed, which I really appreciate because the Lost Amulets games could be painfully difficult in timed mode. It's not mentioned anywhere, but clicking on a little colored dot in the map allows you to replay that level on demand. The CE extras: 6 MP levels, 9 "traditional" mahjong levels using the usual pick-2 mechanic, 6 mahjong levels using the match with a tile on the bottom mechanic, and 9 higher-lower solitaire games. You can also view the end game "gallery" sequence, which is a lot like those old-school screensavers but with a peaceful soundtrack, and listen to the game's music via the music player. The opening intro video may be viewed on demand from either the CE extras or by clicking the movie clapper icon in the map screen. Overall, I did like that this game mixes it up more so it's not just one HOS after another, but some of the mahjong layouts seem very sloggy to play because of the layout being difficult to win. I also found it annoying that a "streak" can easily be broken in the mahjong games because you don't get more than about 2 seconds between clicks in order to keep a streak going. And as usual with the entire series, there just *always* has to be at least one "marble rage" game someplace. This time, there's thankfully just one of these frustration-inducing devices in the CE extras, but I'd still like to see a game which I can 100% without having to lower the difficulty for one horrible level. Otherwise, a beautiful game that's great for playing at the end of a long day.

Cute chill little game... the talking is a little long and drawn out, but tolerable. Puzzles are relaxing, and enjoyable. I enjoyed the changing games. Very pretty game. One play thru took approx. 3 hrs.

I love this new Twisttingo, it's my favorite of the three, I love the mahjong as I play mahjong sometiimes and really like it a lot. I love the game too for it''s marble popping levels. I find this to make it a unique game as I no other's game like it.. I think it's well worth the money and would have bought it if I diidn't get a steam key. Thanks to the person who gave me a key. You know who you are. I really appreciate it. I love the clutter HOG levels. Some don't like HOG clutter matching. It's my favorite type of HOG.

Fun and relaxing.

This is a very chill/casual puzzle game which is fairly easy as long as you put in the time (other than the marble popping part, which is timed and can be lost). Nonetheless it's pretty fun. I've played almost all the twistingo games, which probably makes me somewhat unique as it's kind of obscure. All of the games follow a similar formula, part hidden object (find all the cars) part finding pairs of identical objects, part marble popping. This one adds something new but decidedly not welcome, a mahjongg inspired matching game that can only be described as a chore with nothing figure out, just waiting for a matching tile to appear in a limited set at the bottom of the screen. If you could skip that part (luckily it's fairly rare in the rotation of puzzles) this is probably the best game of the series, as the art is significantly improved over earlier games, with lots of intricate clockwork animals and other fantastical objects that are fun to look at in of themselves. Of note, the game is fully playable with touch screens, which means you can play it as a couch coop, trading turns to make matches etc. Probably not what they intended but my favorite way to enjoy it with my 10 year old daughter.

Beautiful, relaxing game with vibrant graphics and soothing soundtrack. A great choice for bird and puzzle lovers, make sure to give this little gem a go. And check the rest of the games by the developer! :)
