BEST ADVENTURE GAME I'VE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME
Who doesn't love a good zombie game? The game reminds me of Bad Dream: Coma, but with color. It took me almost 5 hours to complete this game, and when it was over, I was totally bummed because I just wanted to keep playing. I didn't even take screenshots because I was so engrossed in the game! I didn't find any of the tasks to be illogical, but like any adventure game, you'll have to pay attention to clues and, most importantly, the dialog text! Nine times out of 10, the dialog text points you in the right direction. Most of the "puzzles" are actually codes or passwords to unlock a multitude of locked doors within the Psychiatric hospital and the town. Yes, you will have to revisit scenes as new tasks unfold, or you finally find an inventory item to use, but that's part of the adventure, right!? I loved the Code Cipher puzzle and the final calculation puzzle because I really had to crunch some numbers using the 'ole grey matter! My advice is to click on everything, read all the dialog, and jot down anything related to codes. If you can't figure out what to do next, revisit previous scenes to see if you might have missed something.
Note to the Developers
Well done! This is a fantastic game and I have been recommending it to all of my friends. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. 🧟♂️

MY REVIEWS
Click HERE for more Reviews by Pennmom36 Click HERE to check out our Steam Group

JOIN OUR FORUM
Click HERE to check out The Woods Forum

Despite occasional frustrations with clue logic, the game is easy to play and doesn’t take long to beat. You wake up tied to a bed. You have no idea who you are or how you ended up there, but after you manage to get yourself free, you find out you’re in some kind of a hospital. The whole building is abandoned, windows are boarded up, and there are signs that suggest the world was hit by a pandemic. Gameplay couldn’t be easier because all you need to do is click on hotspots on the screen. There are no sweeping camera movements or fancy mechanics; instead, everything you need to interact with is right in front of you. Navigation is simple: click on hotspots to investigate, collect items, or solve puzzles. Also, there’s no magic button to highlight interactive objects, so you’ll need to meticulously scan each room, clicking on everything that catches your eye. The cursor shifts to a hand when hovering over something useful, but beyond that, it’s all up to your own sense of observation. The lack of voice acting means all dialogue and narration unfold through text, which, while immersive, can be frustrating when you’re forced to wait for sentences to fully appear before closing the text bubble. This becomes particularly tedious when examining objects multiple times or re-reading lengthy descriptions. Though the game starts within the eerie confines of the hospital, it soon expands, allowing you to explore a nearby town and other desolate locations. The world feels abandoned and there’s almost nobody alive, and those who remain aren’t much for conversation. The story unfolds primarily through flashbacks, as you recover fragments of your lost memory, and through scattered newspapers that hint at the events leading up to society’s downfall. While the minimalist interface adds to the immersion, it also introduces some challenges. Without text labels on hotspots, important objects can be easy to miss, especially when sifting through cluttered desks or overfilled shelves. Some hotspots only become relevant later, forcing you to revisit and re-examine areas you thought were cleared. This can be a bit tedious, but it does encourage thorough exploration, and thankfully, the limited number of locations keeps backtracking manageable. Inventory management is straightforward, with collected items stored in a backpack that can be opened and closed as needed. However, leaving it open covers part of the screen, potentially hiding important clues or hotspots. The puzzles themselves are a mix of item-based interactions and logic challenges, requiring you to decipher codes, observe environmental details, and piece together clues. Using an item is as simple as clicking on it and then selecting where to apply it. There's no immediate feedback if you use an item incorrectly, which means you can brute-force your way through puzzles by trying everything everywhere—though the logical design of most challenges discourages this approach.
Great puzzle game with a twisted plot and story. Some good scares.
Great puzzle game and very underrated :D
True Virus’s overall style and design is solid. Puzzles are pretty forgiving all things consider, but there is one that feels needlessly complicated (the cipher puzzle). The soundtrack is mute button bad in places and I think the story felt a little disjointed. Overall, I don’t necessarily think True Virus is a bad game. It’s just flawed and feels like something I won’t remember playing 6-8 months from now. I would still absolutely recommend this to someone who really likes spookier point and click adventure games like Sally Face, Earthworms, or Fran Bow. And I definitely would be interested in playing future games this developer releases.
I wish there were more games like this. Enjoyed it very much.
Very enjoyable game at an itty-bitty price!
I enjoyed this point click puzzle game. Not sure what the point of that triangle password papers i collected still in my inventory though.
I love the 'open-world' type of puzzle games where you have a choice of many places to go to and link all the clues and items together. I had a lot of fun playing it and it really got me thinking. I must admit, I had to pull up a walkthrough about three times for certain parts, the only suggestion I would add to the game is some sort of hint after some time where the character could say like 'hmm there was a item in this place' but other than that, I recommend this game a lot!
