TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.
The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.
10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.
All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.
Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.
There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.
Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.
As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

Fun tactical SRPG with an in-depth build crafting system. The systems are a bit obtuse at first, but it's really rewarding once you figure out a strong build for each character. One thing that I really liked in the story missions was unique in this genre - there are missions in which you control one of the enemy factions for a time before your team shows up, which can give you a chance to learn their abilities as well as learn about their perspective/motivations. It also adds replayability to the missions to try the other branching paths. They're generally inconsequential to the overall narrative, but I enjoy them nonetheless.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I was really surprised at just how much attention the devs have given this game. Across the board from the UI, UX to the art direction, story/character details and so on... This game is a true passion project and should inspire much bigger studious to strive to match the level of work that has been put into this game. In a lot of regards, it just comes across as much better than those bigger games. It is a story based tactical rpg with a great number of builds available and a visual novel style story. Only similar to XCOM in it's combat style I'd say. I played through the game start to finish on hard difficulty and did most of the side content. It was quite a decent balance. Only struggled a bit with the violent cases. I should say I only played the non DLC chapter to completion. Will definitely return for the DLC to see it all through after a bit of a break (Probably early next year). I quite enjoyed the combat. The levels had good amount of variety with both enemy types and level layouts. Plus the amount of builds possible for each character meant I never really got sick of it. There were moments during some side quests where it did feel like I was fighting too many enemies, but I never got sick of the main scenario quests or the violent cases. I think most of it stemmed from having to replay certain maps to get side quest objectives complete. I would like side quests to be issued in a more streamlined manner to prevent this but it is not a big issue as it is. Though I will say the devs provide the option for difficulty changing and also a "challenge mode" where enemy builds are more varied. That would keep things fresh for sure, but I just stuck to hard difficulty for now :). The UI/UX also has been very well thought out and gives you a lot of options. From simple being able to control select multiple items in the workbench screens, to easy navigation in the mastery research stations.. Things like this should be present in every game! Then they also give various options to alter in the options menu and even different scales for speeding up friendly or enemy turns. It is insane how bigger studious fail to implement stuff like this in their massive budget games. The story was quite good as well. There was a surprising amount of humanity and groundedness to the characters that made it much more believable. Plus the world they have created is very intriguing with a rich history. I can easily say I found myself more involved with the world than a lot of the other bigger/popular RPGs. The base game only goes upto a certain point so there is a lot more that has been set up, or will be revealed in the DLC or their next game. Since I have not played those, I can say I was very satisfied with the progress that was there in Season 1. Even some of the side stuff with the animal species being affected by humans/other beasts had a bit of story going, which I thought was a great touch. The visuals for the game are great as well and the art pieces for different scenes were amazingly well done and brought the whole thing to life. The soundtrack/voice acting was good as well. I loved the comfy jazz vibes. The track Reminiscene was definitely my favorite. Overall, I have become a Dandylion fan. Keep up the great work lads! I look forward to playing the DLC/Banished children down the line :).
Possibly the best strategy game ever made when it comes to mechanical depth and customization, there's lots of moving parts, and it feels like the content is borderline neverending. Very satisfying to pull off a great build.
Still going through the game, but quite far in. The game is a great XCOM clone with a bigger focus on JRPG stats and abilities with unique characters. Objectives are diverse as well as choices on what police units you want helping, or where you start on the map. Playable characters are varied and fun, although there are clear powerhouses. In terms of the XCOM inspiration, you can take cover in the same way, but it's less essential here due to your characters being less vulnerable than the generic soldiers in XCOM. In terms of character customization, there's so much here. It would take a few paragraphs for me to lay it all out. Just imagine lots of perks, 4 specific perks combining into a special perk, etc. The story so far is a really mixed bag. The moments where it focuses on the main characters are good. The moments where it does flashbacks are bad, because it takes you out of the moment, especially if the flashback is about non main characters. This is easily the weakest part of the game. Even the story bits about the main characters end up being kinda flat. Usually just focuses on the character's core traits and motivation and that's it. Then again, I haven't finished the game. However, this is what I've experienced in my 60+ hours. In terms of value, this game is great. It's got a lot of meat to it for the price. Just don't expect an S tier story. It's by the numbers from what I've played. The characters themselves though are fun with good designs.
What a game. Pretty meh/not great story, characters are fine, designs do what they need to. But wow, gameplay loop is peak. So much fun playing the game, winning fights, getting incrementally stronger, just so much fun to play. Translation makes scenes a little more awkward and strange than they probably should be, but if you like xcom/fire emblem gameplay, this game is a 100/10 recommend.
