Trivia Vault: Hockey Trivia is a casual quiz title developed and published by Ripknot Systems that follows the studio’s familiar formula of fast-paced, time-pressured trivia challenges wrapped in a simple game-show presentation. Designed for short play sessions and straightforward knowledge testing, the game focuses entirely on hockey-related questions, appealing primarily to fans of the sport who enjoy quick mental challenges rather than deep gameplay systems or competitive multiplayer experiences. At its core, Trivia Vault: Hockey Trivia is structured around a sequence of themed “vaults,” each containing a fixed number of questions that must be answered correctly to unlock progression. Every question presents multiple-choice answers, and players are placed under a countdown timer that steadily drains as they think. Correct answers reduce the vault’s numerical code, while incorrect choices penalize time and increase pressure. This design creates a constant sense of urgency, encouraging players to rely on both their hockey knowledge and their ability to make quick decisions under stress. The scope of the trivia content spans a broad range of hockey-related topics. Questions typically touch on professional leagues, well-known players, team histories, records, rules, and notable moments from the sport’s past. While the game does not explicitly frame its questions as beginner or expert-level, the difficulty curve tends to rise gradually as vaults progress, with later stages demanding more specific or obscure knowledge. For dedicated hockey fans, this can be satisfying, as it rewards long-term familiarity with the sport; for casual fans, it may present a noticeable challenge that encourages repeated attempts. Presentation is intentionally minimalistic. The interface is clean and functional, prioritizing readability and speed over visual flair. Menus, question screens, and vault displays are clearly laid out, ensuring that players can focus entirely on answering questions without distraction. There is little in the way of animation or dynamic visual feedback, which reinforces the utilitarian nature of the experience. The overall aesthetic mirrors that of other Trivia Vault titles, making the game instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the series. Audio design plays a supporting role rather than a defining one. Background music is subtle and repetitive, designed to maintain tension without overpowering concentration. Sound effects provide basic feedback for correct and incorrect answers, reinforcing the rhythm of play but not adding much personality. This restrained approach suits the game’s quiz-focused design, though it also contributes to the feeling that the experience is more functional than immersive. Progression is linear and score-driven. Players move from vault to vault, aiming to unlock all available stages while achieving higher scores and faster completion times. Achievements are a notable component of the experience, as is common with Ripknot Systems titles, offering a large number of unlockables tied to performance milestones, completion goals, and repeated play. For achievement hunters, this can significantly extend the game’s lifespan, even after all vaults have been cleared. However, the simplicity that makes Trivia Vault: Hockey Trivia accessible also defines its limitations. There are no alternative modes, difficulty settings, or multiplayer options to diversify the experience. Once players become familiar with the question pool, replay value depends largely on score optimization rather than discovery. This repetition can reduce long-term engagement for players who are not motivated by achievements or personal bests. Reception to the game generally reflects this balance between accessibility and depth. Players who enjoy casual trivia games and have an interest in hockey tend to appreciate the straightforward design and focused subject matter. Criticism usually centers on the lack of variety, limited presentation, and the repetitive nature of the core loop. As with other entries in the Trivia Vault series, expectations play a major role in enjoyment: those seeking a light, inexpensive trivia challenge are more likely to be satisfied than those looking for a feature-rich quiz experience. Overall, Trivia Vault: Hockey Trivia succeeds as a narrowly focused trivia game that delivers exactly what its title suggests. It offers a clean, time-based quiz experience tailored to hockey enthusiasts, with simple progression and a heavy emphasis on achievements. While it lacks depth, polish, and variety beyond its core concept, it fulfills its role as a casual knowledge test that can be enjoyed in short bursts. For fans of hockey trivia and the broader Trivia Vault series, it stands as a competent, if modest, addition to Ripknot Systems’ catalog. Rating: 6/10
Completion Review

Favorite Part Instant achievements. Least Favorite Part Didn't actually play the game so i cant say much. Game Play Time 0.5 hours (at time of review)
Any Trivia Vault game is a prime target for achievement hunters and completionists. I briefly played the game, but not enough to really give any opinion. Its a trivia game similar to Jeopardy. that's about it. Only buy when its on sale, or use the bundle if you really want to maximize the achievements. I think I paid $1 for mine originally when it was on sale and the bundle puts them at about $1.5 each. Really only recommending it for the achievements. Here's my completion guide for this game if anyone would like to check it out. 😁 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3497773900

The developer spammed like 20x the same game onto Steam. From what I can gather, some of them share questions. The price was increased so he can put it on sale during sales, so the current price is an absolute joke. I dont want to support something like this, so please dont you do it either. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
Kiedy myślisz o „hokeju”, jaki kraj przychodzi Ci na myśl? Prawdopodobnie Kanada, miejsce narodzin hokeja. Widziałem to niezliczoną ilość razy. No dobrze.
