Trialtime Reborn

Trialtime Reborn is a broken, somewhat low effort dirt bike obstacle course game where you drive an asset flipped dirt bike around a somewhat primitively assembled set of obstacle courses. At least you would if it could be played. The game seems to require a connection to a lobby server, and the developer pulled the plug on that. Without any lobby connection, the game main menu is dead and there's no apparent way to try play the game offline. It's completely unclear why a single player time trial game requires connection to a lobby, but if this was a professionally made game, it wouldn't be in the shovelware bundle I got this in. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. Although perhaps if the game actually worked, it might have attracted more players. Unethically, the developers have left this on the Steam store in an unplayable and broken state. This is harmful to Steam and to gamers, because it takes a share of the marketing space and visibility away from other games. It's polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuine games and for genuine indie developers who put months or years into making proper games find an audience. Trialtime Reborn is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's broken, so obviously don't buy it.

tres tres dur mais pas mal !
