Trials 2: Second Edition

Long time Trials fan. Game still holds up and is as challenging as ever, if you can get used to the more moon like gravity

Awesome Stunt bike game

After finally having played through Trials Legends, the official compilation of the first 3 games in the series, my stance drastically changed on this. Don't even bother. Legends will provide a similar experience in 2D, but with more responsive controls... for free. To explain my main gripes with Trials 2 bluntly: The bike feels heavier than a bus, has the structural integrity of a teenager's mental state, and glides through the air like it's on the Moon. But worst of all, the rider takes a damn business day to lean from one end to the other, which makes performing techniques like bunnyhopping or real-wheel bouncing extremely awkward. Truth be told, Legends has some of those issues as well, but not to THAT extent.

The original web version also had a more intuitive difficulty progression, gradually easing players into the mechanics and challenges. In comparison, Trials 2 Second Edition can feel punishingly difficult from the start, which might deter new players. The original's straightforward and addictive gameplay loop was its strongest suit, and while the sequel offers more depth, it sometimes feels like it sacrificed approachability for sophistication.

I used to play this game when I was a kid and this year I started playing it again after a long time. Still just as fun as it was before. There are dozens of courses with such a wide variety of difficulty levels so there'll be challenges for anyone.

I was recently reminded why in the 15 years I've owned this game I have like...8 hours of gameplay. It is just so impossibly difficult. I don't want to feel like I'm grinding for hours just to get through one level.

Fun at the start but levels get super complicated and require hundreds of restarts to pass
