This is a bit weird to run with the weather effects overlaid on real video and the signals being graphics overlaid over the ones from the video. Its a bit of fun to run and physics is reasonable for starting and stopping. I do wonder why its called Operator 377 when it appears you're not driving a 377? You certainly see plenty of traffic and because its all video it has no impact on you at all.
There's no guide. Doesn't explain the keys to the game. There's only a tab with some key functions. Would be beter if there was a tutorial or an keybind section.

"Train Operator 377 Free Version" is a game I really liked the idea of... this is a train simulator but it uses FMV footage of actual train journeys... can't get better graphics than real life! Unfortunately the UI is a disaster and it's a confounding mess to try to understand to play. The core technology is great but the back end and game design needs a lot of work... but I dare say if they did put in the effort there, this would have been a fully marketable product that would probably kick the butt out of the existing, stupidly overpriced Train Sim games (Some of which have over $3000 of scam tier DLC!!!) The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 6 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. Given that this free game won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, and you really really really like trains, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Not sure what century they got that footage from, but i was expecting Charlie Chaplin to appear on a train platform at any moment
