Trails Of Gold Privateers is a stable and challenging vr game, you are aboard a ship that is more or less racing against a ghost ship, over the course of your course you will have to destroy turrets or floating obstacles using your weapons or cannons on your ship, the cannons are located so you can shoot in 3 different directions and each with a wide aim zone. The cannons are much more effective against turrets, but the weapons you control with your hands are useful for other things as well. Watch my gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7t-DrJh5fw Around you you will see a lot of rewards, some better hidden than others but the intention is that you collect these rewards by hitting them with your weapons, The faster you get down turrets and other obstacles or enemies, the faster you get to the end of the course, Your ship can also take damage and this slows you down, you have a life meter of the boat that you can keep an eye on but if you take too much damage, water will run into your ship. You can also repair the damage to your ship during the active levels.

I like the game's graphics, but its mechanics and gameplay is not fun. I found the teleportation mechanic and gun switch mechanics are completely flow breaker for its rush gameplay. Refunded but I would like to drop some notes here as a review from my perspective. For me, there is only one negative point, that is, the game mechanics is not matching its casual rush gameplay. It is not completely unplayable but a bit tiring for some typical goals, reaching and picking the right weapon on time for the appropriate target. However, this game has awesome stylized graphics. In the beginning, gameplaywise, it reminded me ♥♥♥♥ Wild series first, that was an onrail shooter on a river. Differently, this game has some variety of weapons, cannons and handguns, and you have a little control over the ship, which is the onrail speed by adjusting sails. Comparing to the other pirate games that I enjoyed finishing, it has richer visuals than Furious Seas and less cumbersome than Battlewake. Actually I wish this game was the next alternative to them with its polished smooth graphics and more casual gameplay. Arguably, the game has two major flaws with its choosen mechanis for me. The problem is that you have to be on the right spot on the ship to handle the cannons using teleportation, and the teleportation mechanic is not right for this rush gameplay. That shouldn't be the classic way as in the walking simulators, rather, it could be a fast and easy catch, like in the Sacralith VR. Secondly, switching back to the handguns is not intuitive enough. With respect to me, a game can hardly be fun if the major challenge comes from overcoming the base common vr mechanics, especially for this type where the reflexes are needed.

船を守りながら船上から銃や大砲を撃つレールシューターの一種。ナレーターや船長がよく喋るが字幕はないので何を言っているかはよくわからない。英語がわからなくてもプレイに支障は無いと思う。ワンオペ戦闘員が船上を移動しながら忙しく射撃をするコンセプトだが、素早く移動したい時や位置を微調整した時にワープ移動はやっかいだし、大砲は面倒なので使う気がしない。それなりに遊べはするので一応青評価にしておくが、おすすめできるかどうかは微妙なところ。 Unity製だがXUnityAutoTranslatorは機能しなかった。

Game looks good, but... Quests are very bad here (they are unfortunately needed to progress). You can complete quests, even get skulls, but they will not be counted sometimes. In one quest where I had to kill 10 wasps and 2 flowers - flowers are ok (there were 3), but I have killed 5 wasps and maybe 2 more I saw behind big obstacle and not able to kill them from anywhere. But what about the rest? AI of the opponent is horrible (cheating with speed boosts). Game is also very fast paced and needs fast and precise shooting. Using cannons is hard, they are slow with limited rotation, so it is easier to only use guns. Did I have fun? No, it was stressful because of bugs and crazy quest system to even progress.

A bit dull.

Décors vraiment sympas et prise en main assez rapide. Jeu accessible pour toute la famille, parfait pour faire découvrir la VR. Tirs aux canons vraiment fun :) A essayer

Tres bon jeu VR, a essayer absolument ! Les graphismes sont super, et le gameplay est tres reussi.
