About
Trail & Error is a chaotic co-op survival game for 1–8 players where poor decisions, bad luck, and questionable teamwork are just as dangerous as the trail itself.
Travel together across an unknown frontier, manage limited supplies, survive unpredictable disasters, and try not to abandon your friends when things go wrong. The goal is simple: reach the end of the trail alive.
Every run is a shared journey filled with dynamic events, environmental hazards, and tough choices. Food runs out. Illness spreads. Weather turns hostile. Your wagon breaks at the worst possible time.
When disaster strikes, you’ll have to adapt on the fly or deal with the consequences.
Movement and interaction are driven by physics, turning everyday tasks into unpredictable problems:
Haul supplies and manage a physics-driven wagon
Navigate rough terrain and environmental hazards
Watch plans fall apart in the funniest ways possible
The physics won’t always kill you, but it will make things complicated.
With proximity voice chat, coordination matters especially when things start going wrong. Expect frantic callouts, bad ideas, and arguments that feel all too familiar.
1–8 player online co-op
Physics-based wagon and character movement
Randomized events and dynamic weather
4 Different map biomes
Survival based mechanics
Resource management: food, health, and illness
Proximity voice chat for immersive (and chaotic) communication
Trail & Error is about teamwork, survival, and the comedy that comes from everything going wrong at exactly the wrong time.

It's REALLY fun. It's not buggy in a way that is unplayable - it's buggy in a comedic way (my oxen explodes into 10 drumsticks periodically.) There's ways to seemingly prevent that, by swapping out oxen as much as possible (maybe they expire after X time has passed? idk.) Point is, it's fun and hilarious. Takes 1-2 hours to clear with 2 people, like Peak. Physics are fun and it's challenging on standard difficulty. I anticipate it will get much better as the developers continue to squash bugs and include features. I particularly LOVE the mechanic of collecting cosmetics from dropped parcels on the road. Not sure what the 100 horseshoes are that you have to collect, but collecting stuff Banjo Kazooie style is always fun. Great game overall.
Loads of fun, cannot wait for other biomes and updates. Played several hours solo and with friends, we had an absolute ball. Controls are a smidge chunky, but seeing as it's ox-driven carriages, it's reasonable. Would like to see ADS for hunting.

Pros: • Fun to play with friends • Nice physics and basic but cute graphics • 3 different levels with different challenges Cons: • Poorly optimized and changing some settings does nothing. That being said, my siblings were still able to run it on their college laptops that met the minimum recommended specs. • Only about 2 hours worth of gameplay from the start of the map to the end of the map, so it leaves you wishing there was more to do at the end of the game.
The oxen need a health bar or something. Crossing the river doesnt work at all, and the checkpoints need to actually ****** work! Got to the final river crossing, My wagon just flipped the second i entered the water and i was stuck in the middle and couldnt do anything. Dont release your ***** game if you havent ****** tested it!
PLEASE READ: I have never had SO MUCH FUN in a co-op game!!! This game is absolutely hilarious and a fun throw back for all the 90's babies who remember playing this on the brick computer in the school library! A game similar to fan favorites like REPO, Headliners, Peak and RV there yet, if that is your jam, you NEED to play this game with your friends, TODAY! The ragdoll cosmetics, the PVE against bears and snakes and oh, did I mention the FULL BIRTHDAY SUIT option?? Our whole gang runs no clothes and it is hilarious. Shake your lil buns in the suns and try to survive the entire gauntlet. It really truly is Trial and Error and you will love this game! Can't wait to see what updates come to the game.
While there are still a few kinks here and there, this is an incredible friendslop game that will keep you and your friends laughing for hours. I truly havent had this much fun with friendslop in AGES.
the game had some glitches i wish to be fixed 1-when the menu is opened while the player get resurrected the menu glitches out and refuses to close 2-when two players interact with same object at the same time (example driving) the second player gets into the driving menu and gets stuck without being able to exit driving or do anything 3-the amount of money given is way too much for the little items that can be bought at the start
Really fun game! It’s easy to pick up, but there’s enough chaos and challenge to keep things interesting. I played it with a group of friends and we had an absolute blast and lots of diseases... oops. lots of laughs and questionable decisions made. Definitely a great game to play with friends, especially if your group enjoys a little friendly chaos. We had a great time with it and I’d absolutely recommend it!
In games like this, janky-ness can be fun. It's so janky that's its effectively unplayable. Two of our 3 people died from "falling" while just standing still. During the first river crossing, the wagon immediately disintegrated. We gave up after that and refunded
Dumb unfinished game
