I'm just longing for a good (single-player) auto-battler and this one most definitely isn't it. I feel kinda scammed tbh.
After checking some other reviews, I’m quite shocked that it only has a mixed score. The amount of content really impressed me. The maps are big enough. Unlocking new buildings opens up new builds/bonuses, which is nice. And the whole exploration feels fresh for the auto chess genre. I’ve encountered only some minor visual bugs here and there, and I’m still waiting for the full story campaign. But apart from that, it feels great already, especially after the recent patch.
As my first experience with the Auto Battler genre, Tower of Chaos has been delightful. I'm enjoying the challenge, although some of that may come from my inexperience. The design and art style are fantastic and the story uncovered so far has been great!
As someone who's played a lot of TFT, this is great if you want something that's like a solo version with meta progression.
Even if you are familiar with auto-battlers, there is a learning curve in choosing what fights are going to benefit you most before the difficulty ramps up in a run. When I started I died frequently, until I learned the best way to grow my team. There is variety in what builds you can be successful with, and it definitely scratches that single player auto-chess itch I've had for a while. My recommendation would be to try to only pick fights that give you something to make you stronger, and don't move to harder areas until you feel strong enough to. There is a familiar sense of balancing interest/income versus going all in with your resources when you're coming to a tough fight. Consider fighting a few extra easy fights to get save interest so that you can be strong enough to move to the next area. After the initial time investment and plenty of deaths, this became exactly what I want in a single player auto-battler.
Chill gameplay. It's fun to build and watch your army. The story is actually interesting (at first i thought it's just a base for the tutorial, but the lore kept coming between runs)
玩了不到3小时,闪退好几次,游戏挺好玩的,赶紧优化
Full playthrough here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAFtZ4pMPIc620ulwAFk1g0tz7vFYCeH7 Overall a lot more fun than I was expecting a single player team fight tactics type game to be seeing the different combinations and monsters that you can unlock keeps each run feeling unique. The game also is freaking hard til you figure it out which is a good thing you have to really master the game to start clearing the towers. The voice actors do a wonderful job and it was cool progressing through each characters story arc and LIA is just one of the best characters in video games ever.
Fantastic game that still has content being added, originally was kinda iffy with the exploration part, but with the new trials mode, it truly scratches that TFT single player itch, good balance of challenge as well as strategy of using many many different units to truly create insane teams. Would highly recommend.
