How am I the first non-EA and non-free review? I'll admit, I haven't finished this game yet. But I adore it. It's not as deep as something like Undertale, but it belongs in the same house. It's got heart and a story that someone clearly wanted to tell, instead of just "lets make a game". I feel a little of that same connection that Undertale manages. I love the characters and the style and the music. It's $5, c'mon. Won't you?

Holy cow, this game has it all. It felt a bit like Undertale, it was sad, the story drove me on, and the ending was... Unexpected, but it was good! I remember playing this when it was still early access, and just now found out it was finished, I'm really glad about the outcome!

Okay, first off, how the heck has this game not gotten more attention?! This could easily be the next Undertale! This is an RPG about an amnesiac young girl trapped in the world of her toys. That might sound warm and fuzzy, but believe me, the T rating isn't for show. The world you are in is run by a psychotic control freak who, with a different artstyle, wouldn't look out of place as a FNaF animatronic. The world is surrounded by a pitch-black void full of shadowy rats, and overall gives off a feeling of fear. This is not a horror game by any means, but it is a much darker game than you would expect. That being said, you're not alone; you do have friends who will be there for you. You'll fight together in combat similar to Off, or an older Final Fantasy game; bars fill up, and whosever's fills up first gets to go first. The gameplay is fun and enjoyable, and while the pixel artstyle may not be for everyone, I certainly enjoy it. Cutscenes are drawn in a way that appears dark, but ultimately warm and welcoming. The music is excellent, from the bleak area themes to the orchestrated boss music. Additionally, you have a cast of colorful (literally and figuratively) and lovable characters, from the gentle, protective Peter, to the hyperactive, childlike Skid, to the relaxed, mischievous save point/hint source Odette. That being said, I do have a few issues. If you want to find anything, including one of the characters, you'll need to poke around everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. This is not a game where items hidden in drawers or under furniture give any indication they are there. This is worsened by the Dollhouse's at times mazelike layout. It's never to the point where you can't progress the story or find items laid out in the open, but some indication would be nice. I like the layout, though; that actually works really well, albeit occasionally frustrating. The other main issue I have is Odette's advice. Odette is great as a character and gameplay mechanic, but while I got lost and started looking everywhere to find the answer to a puzzle, she started repeating some of her earlier advice, which, while helpful when she originally said it, did not help in the slightest with the current problem. Additionally, the one on topic thing she had to say during this time basically amounted to "stay a while"! Not technically wrong, everything having to do with the puzzle was in that general area, but some advice would be nice! I had to brute force the solution to the puzzle, and I'm still not entirely sure how to figure out that code! Granted, I'm not sure how much of that was the puzzle's fault, and how much was me just being bad at riddles, but the point stands, Odette's advice was utterly useless and I'm pretty sure malfunctioning during that time. The only other real complaint I had was with an optional puzzle. You are told that flipping a set of switches in the correct order will open the way to an item. However, the area that flipping the switches affects is offscreen, and quite a long walk away. There are a lot of obstacles being moved by the switches, and it is very hard to keep track. I wouldn't mind, if it weren't for the hallway between the room and the switches. It's hard enough keeping track without the long walk to forget how things were originally. Maybe shorten the hallway? Otherwise, this is an amazing game, and I can't wait for the final version. Take you time, though; with what you have so far, this is going to be a masterpiece.

Played this game as a bug tester years ago. Ended up meeting my partner because of it. Great story, immaculate vibes. Would reccomend.
This is a great game! I only wish it was complete, and that I'd unlocked Clint before finishing the current version. The characters and artstyle are charming and the story gives you that intriguing, uneasy feeling without being downright terrifying. I also appreciate that the combat isn't too difficult; I don't have to spend hours and hours grinding to get to the next part of the story, and can instead breeze through the game after dispatching twenty-or-so rats. A few things I noticed is that some graphics occasionally appear and disappear. There was a 'mysterious device' (a spoiler) I activated at one point that completely vanished upon use, and on the floor below the texture of the debris was inconsistent (sometimes there was a weight, sometimes it was just glass and plastic dressers) but overall this didn't take away much from the game and I still wholeheartedly reccomend it to anyone who wants to be entertained.
TinkerQuarry is a great game and one of my favorite RPGs. The art style is charming, the story is interesting, attention is given to the character's personalities, and you can really tell a lot of effort went into making this. For the fighting aspect, I never found myself having to grind excessively to finish boss fights. I don't like too much grinding in games, so I'm glad this game balances the fighting and world exploration well. I can't wait for this game to be finished!
This is an absolutely amazing game for a rainy day. I played it all night until the morning (although I didn't finish) and loved every second. It's a great horror and puzzle game and not too scary for the faint of heart. I love it!
Am I the only one who has problems with the controls? Only right arrow and down arrow works!
