timpu's treasure is a follow-up to the excellent kili's treasure, though all they share are the presentation and gameplay, the story and characters are not connected. so this is also a voxel-based isometric point & click adventure, but instead of being confined to the rooms of a single house, you can explore an entire town and inspect and interact not only with all kinds of items, but local residents as well. help them find things they're looking for to gain entry to other parts of their houses, learn more about their families and secrets, and ultimately finish the treasure hunt the mayor tasks you with at the beginning. advancing the main story involves just one item at a time and opens up new locations, while residents will ask you to find items in pairs. there's no inventory, interacting with an item simply puts it in the lower left corner where the (let's call it) 'interaction log' is. all you need to do to fulfill an npc's request is interact with the appropriate items one after the other, but unlike kili's treasure, the order doesn't matter. it cuts down on going back and forth, but the map still offers fast travel, so it would've been a non-issue anyway. walking around can be done with the mouse, the arrow keys or wasd, shift highlights interactable items even while moving around, and there's a help screen with all the controls. the presentation is great as ever (I love voxels), the music is very pleasant, there's windowed mode and resolution options, and you can save whenever you need or have to quit. there's a lot to see and do, and while I didn't find the story as heartwarming this time, it still had its touching moments and was really amusing. if you're into charming, not too difficult adventures with likeable characters, pick this up (along with kili's treasure if you haven't) even at full price for an afternoon or two's worth of family-friendly fun. and don't call me shirley!

A sweet, weird, and often funny story. Unfortunately it's impossible to recommend this game due to its oddball gameplay and many bugs. You will spend more time trying to understand how the game wants you to play it than actually collecting the items. For such a short game, that's just unacceptable. The game design decisions make no sense. It is not, despite its presentation, a point-and-click adventure, but rather a collecting game. "Interacting" with items does nothing obvious. You don't do anything with them, nor do you take them. Instead, you ... make a note of them? Even though you've already seen them? And you can only make a note of two items at the same time? Also, much of the small game world is locked to you until you collect specific items, for no in-game reason. Just ... because. There is no connection between the area and the collected item. Bugs include: getting stuck in the scenery, being able to move outside of the enclosed game world, and many spelling mistakes. Also, sound volume is very low, even when set to maximum in the game settings. The developer has clearly released this game for sale before it was ready. If I had not received it for free in order to review it, I would have requested a refund. Paying customers are not beta testers. There's some obvious talent here, and I do expect good games from this developer in the future. But poor design choices make this particular game almost unplayable.

Interact or inspect with items. This is kind of like a scavenger hunt.
Loved it! super fun but a little sad too, i really enjoyed it!!
This was a cute and chill game. I enjoyed the puzzles as well as the mini-stories for each character. At first I thought the scientist was a woman and was excited for an LGBT-couple! But alas, that was not the case... Anyway, the only part I got stuck on was
finding the librarian's cupboard in order to solve the proof of cheating. I kept forgetting to check the locked storage items for clues!
But anyway I enjoyed this! Kept me occupied for a few hours.

Timpu's Treasure is a quirky fetch quest game masquerading as a "Treasure hunting" game. The game starts out with a few training tasks and then the fetch questyness shows up. the main character "Rin" basically has a licence to snoop around and the dialog exchange is really funny. Music is surprisingly calming as you snoop through this towns dirty laundry. Graphics are simple clean and a nice isometric view, the screen shots don't really do the game justice as when actually playing it looks super crisp and smooth. Overall I would give this title a 5/5! would fetch quest again!
Now, this is a good point and click treasure-finding adventure. As usual, this developer rules and shows off his ability with puzzles and stories. Great lore and characterization make this a worthwhile playthrough
Cute exploration game with a neat story. The style is cutesy but the stories of the characters is actually really sad. The game is less puzzle and more find and collect items to unlock the story. The controls are okay but the graveyard was kind of hard to navigate. Also, when I loaded the game to finish out the achievements, some sections were glowing? Like outside of the journalist's house, the first chamber of the mausoleum, the second room of the journalist's house, and a few other sections. Do not know if this is a feature or a bug but it was a minor annoyance nonetheless. The two slots for collecting items were annoying because I couldn't select which one I wanted to replace, so I had to double back to locations to recollect items if I made a mistake. Not a deal-breaker but just time consuming and slightly annoying. Overall, I enjoyed the game, however, it is not puzzle focused, it is story and exploration. It is like a game of side quests to get to the main objective. The stories are sad but that's how life is sometimes.
