A competent, albeit slightly janky platformer in which the difficulty comes from the controls. Controlling a jester on a unicycle leads to some awkward sliding that forces you to "stop and go" as you platform, which isn't too hard but can get a bit demanding when you also have to juggle with cannonballs, fire, spikes and other hazards. Later levels get a bit tough but stay fun. There are a hundred levels (+40 bonus ones), divided into 5 realms that each introduce new stuff: bouncing springs, cannons, falling hazards, fire... All in all, Tightrope Theatre is one of Adventure Islands' most average platformers: it's not great, but it's cheap, fun and should last around an hour and a half at most. I recommend trying out some of their other titles like Total Party Kill which are a bit more interesting imo. A short but sweet platformer with charming visuals. Very simple controls, great casual game. I'd love to see more of our adorable protagonist! The world needs more clown games!

I was gonna give this a thumbs down, but ended up feeling like completing it in spite of the relatively frequent frustration, so I guess it's strong enough to merit a weak recommendation. There's honestly two sides to this game: there's the level design itself and the general physics. The handling in this game is a bit deceptive, in that at first it appears that the precise platforming is almost impossible but then you realise (first somewhat unconsciously, finally objectively) that there are small tricks to make it play more in line with a regular platformer. The level design is once again single screen stages where you advance to a goal platform, but they quickly get rather cramped in terms of obstacles and tiny platforms to navigate. While a few obstacles do remain "theatre specific", this time around things get significantly reused to create tense situations. Gameplay pacing is a mix of rewarding slow methodical platforming and reckless runs where the ideal timing is actually very close to leaps of faith from the start. Oh, there's also a minor plot going on, but there's not too much of it. You get one intro cutscene and two sandwiching the final main theatre. I get pixel art is time consuming, but I would have liked at least a bit more context elsewhere, given how I know Jussi (the main person behind Adventure Islands) can deliver satisfying writing.
Nice little plataforming game, very fun.
Very fun with "TIGHTrope" controls, hehe. Cute game and simple to understand. DisOmikon's music tracks are icing on the cake! Love the 4th theatre's theme.
Really cool little game. Simple yet great challenge! Took me 2 hours to complete, and it was really fun to try the time attack mode after that.
Adventure Islands is at it again with a super fun but fairly standard platformer. Note though that this game is much more difficult than Adventure Islands' previous games.
Short, simple and sweet! Not so difficult, in part because it has a super nice difficult curve. Super tight and solid overall. I quite enjoy only having movement and jump and than having to use the levels mechanic to get through
Excellent game. Such small, sweet games are like a pack of jelly beans you want to keep in your pocket and chew on from time to time. ^_^ Cute pixel art, mechanics, challenges, excellent platforming.
youre just a machine of making great small games, arent you?
