This game surprised me ... I went on a steam rabbit hole of metroidvanias and I have landed on this one... where to start ... this game from its opening moment oozez personality and charm and it opens up to a very competent metroidvania that I can't believe has this low recognition...its a crime this is the true definition of hidden gem ... it has a rich atmosphere...responsive controls... good combat...and interesting unique abilities that I would have never thought of !... give this game a go you won't be dissapointed My only con really would be the very openings it take a bit to click but once it does you will want to see it through To the devs : I'm hoping you stick with game development as you have given a taste if what you are capable of and id like to see what could come next !
Hey this game's pretty good!
Hate to do this to an indie game that seems to be unique, but I couldn't get into it. I am not sure why my screen was tearing so bad, not like the games visually demanding. As somewhat stated the art direction is a bit bland, but I could get over that. The most frustrating thing for me personally was not being able to use the D-pad to move. The movement abilities do look unique, but I don't feel excited to use them when I know the game won't be responding as I believe it should. screen tear / 10
This game's strength is its plartforming. Really enjoyed moving around as upgrades were stacking. The rest is pretty minimalistic.
I found about this game on facebook. Seemed interesting to with its unusual premise, of playing a puppet with scissors as your weapon killing enemies which are also puppets. The game started out realy great, you are alone in this undeground realm filled with crazy puppets. You have to fight your way and overcome platforming. As you go you meet some character who can upgrade your abilities and so on usual metroidvania stuff. The one thing i like about this game that you have some enviromental stuff blocking, which you have to move by going to certain location. And once you finish the area and get the upgrade, you dont need to do any backtracking anymore, which was cool for me. The story is done in typical Dark Souls fashion, you can find libraries, theaters, and statues sharing somehting about the gameworld which is kinda interesting, cant say i fully grasp it. But still i think its okay. But i hate to say this as fun as the begining of the game its kinda gets worse, the first part has dificult but kinda fair platforming puzzles. But as you get closer to the end of the the dificulty skyrockets, so much that i think the developer got carried away and wanted to torment the players . The game gets fustratingly hard, I dont know if i will be able to finish . I know nowadays games are too simple, but this is just grazy, making do the same hard platforming over and over again, is not fun. Doing precise button smashing and so on. So goign from a fun and fair platforming game its becomes a purgatory simulator. So i cannot recommend this game, unless you are a better platformer player than me, which is likely, than this game is not for you.
This is a triumph. Huge Success. Having fun exploring and finding new moves to master. Just when I think I am stuck I get the hang of it and make it to the next puzzle. Three hours in and I am wanting more.
