Steam has denied my refund request, and if you run into the issues I was facing, they'll probably deny yours too. This game has an extremely frustrating performance issue. Every time you change areas- including on launch- there's about a 50% chance your frame rate will get stuck at like 40fps (not worth playing). My system wasn't struggling in any way, and when it worked, I was getting 144fps consistently in multiple areas, so it's clearly not my system. It's something about [i]this game[/i]. I tried tweaking graphics settings, toggling fullscreen to "reset" it, alt-tabbing, clearing desktop, lock screen, shutting the game down, rebooting my machine, etc. Pretty much every trick I've tried in the past when I have a game that gets into a bad graphic performance mode. I never found a trick that worked consistently. Maybe this time one trick helped, and next time a different one helped, but nothing that I could use to "work around" whatever is going on here. As someone who enjoyed the silly fun of the first game, I was really looking forward to this, and I'm extremely disappointed that it's basically unplayable. I strongly recommend you return the game [b]immediately[/b] if you have performance issues because in the time it takes to accept it's not getting better, it'll be too late.
