This game is timeless. Don't bother waiting for the remaster because the changes in visuals are truly pointless and that's the only aspect the remaster is changing. With that out of the way let me be perfectly clear: this is a must play. Setting: imagine that somewhere in this World we know and live in, not every human-like person is actually a human but a Fable. Think Little Mermaid, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, etc. For survival, it's an absolute necessity for Fables to live in plain sight of regular humans but not every Fable can achieve this easily and that's just one of the many challenges that Fables fight against. You play as Bigby Wolf (Big Bad Wolf), someone who's tasked to bring justice to the Fables but considering how he was a villain back in the past, how can he achieve this if the majority of the people he's supposed to protect don't trust him? Can you find all the pieces to the puzzles ahead of you? Can you piece the puzzle together and figure it out? How much of the truth will you actually uncover? Gameplay: like other Telltale games, there's a big emphasis in dialogue, choices and finding objects and clues in the environment. You can expect a bunch of QTE's (very forgiving time-wise) but also plenty of opportunities to control Bigby around with the keyboard. The movement can be quite clunky and there's several invisible walls that honestly just upset me. I'd rather have these sections just be point and click because the movement of Bigby is just atrocious. Audio: you can expect a full cast of hugely talented people giving their all to portray their characters Story and characters: I will not spoil a thing but you can expect a story where nothing is actually what they seem. This includes characters and I love it so much because just like real life people, we all have secrets and some are dirtier than others. It's so easy to want to talk with all NPCs, pursue every lead and just discover as much as we can about what is going on. However, at the end of the game, regardless of which ending you get, you may find yourself with a few questions unanswered and a bit upset at some plotholes. The writting itself isn't perfect but this did not take away from absolutely adoring this game
patiently waiting for the wolf among us 2 like i'm so excited
.
One of the best visual novel games you'll ever play. Based on Fables by Bill Willingham, Wolf Among Us brings the first few chapters of the comic. They are so well adapted that you can create your own Bigby - the detective you'll be playing with - or copy the character from the comics to the letter. The story is involving, just as the graphics. However, what really drew my attention was the quality of voicing - way better than any other game of the genre that I've played before. Every one is good. There is no weak interpretation.
story is goated, bigby is goated, main theme is goated, telltale is just goated at this point
