The Test: Reality Check

My word is Courage. I always love these games. answering questions is so interesting. i do feel like this one fell a little short for me. it doesn't bring anything new that we haven't seen at least 3 times. and i heavily disliked the likely use of AI, as other reviewers have mentioned. i would recommend one of the previous games

Been playing all the games from The Test series since the first one and I've always loved every single one of them. However, the last two games previous to this one had felt a bit short a simple, they felt like they lacked some substance. But playing this game now just made me reach the conclusion that this series is not what it used to be anymore. This game was short, poor and just overall felt empty, a very badly done copy-paste of the previous games, with nothing to gain from it. I am also disappointed to find out that these last games the devs have been releasing have been done with AI generated content, which is probably the main reason why the games have become so soul-less tbh... I'm just overall disappointed and I don't think I'll keep playing these games, it was fun while it lasted.

It's been 5 years since I played the original trilogy of the Test games, I'm not a huge fan of them wanting to utilize AI for their assets and a lot of us would understand if it's what helps to progress the development of their biggest project that they wish to tease, but regardless, their empathetic writing for what they have always done in all of the games I appreciate (the humor filled ones that are parody don't stick as well, sorry guys ^^') still ring true and cut just as deep as they intend to do. As always, "Belonging" was my word. To paraphrase their messages and a personal mantra of mine ever since I started playing these: It's never about IF you accomplish what you wish to do, all that matters is that when you'll be able to do what you can to do what you want. Thanks JessyBug for reaching our personally, and for giving a damn about this experience.

If you love taking internet quizzes and sharing the results, this is a great game to pick up. Just not for me at $5. Game was consistent with the others in the series, but rating this one negatively just for the price point. If you're on the fence because this one is slightly more expensive than The Test: Hypothesis Rising and The Test then give it a pass. It's similar stuff with little new, and it gets rid of the fun creepy theme.

With few exceptions I've now completed the whole bunch of Randumb Studios games in chronological order. I can't recommend doing it like the way I did. It's too repetitive to go through them like that. If you just play 1 Randumb Studios game I think it should be this one. There's a whole bunch of The Test Series and all of them are worthwhile even though there's a lot of repetition. The difference is often in the presentation. I do want to point out that I do not like the use of AI in the last two games of Randumb and believe they are completely unnecessary. Despite that, the presentation of this most recent game is better than anything before it. There's the visuals sure but the music might be a bigger difference maker. The way the questions were asked and the host presented everything also felt slightly different. Event though it warns in the beginning of repetition if you've played previous games I have to say that this one felt like the having the least repetition of them all. I think I'm a bit too complex for Randumb as they almost never really get my ending right but this one gets as close as any of them. I'm not tooting my own horn there, it's just that I've done so much self-exploration already, years of it, that there's simply not anything that can be said by anyone else that after a short analysis that can hold much value. Despite that I want to applaud everyone involved in Randumb Studios as what they are trying to do. I truly believe these experiences are of great value and I fully support them. I plan on buying the next games when they come out if only to give support. The world needs more experiences like this.
