The Star Named EOS

The Star Named EOS hat mir insgesamt gut gefallen. Besonders schön fand ich den handgezeichneten Look, die ruhige Atmosphäre, die gute Synchronisation und das gelungene Ende. Die Rätsel waren teilweise recht knifflig. Nicht immer waren anklickbare Gegenstände sofort erkennbar, wodurch ich manchmal eher gesucht als wirklich gerätselt habe. Positiv ist aber die Hinweisfunktion im Ingame-Menü: Ohne sie hätte ich vermutlich öfter zu einem YouTube-Walkthrough greifen müssen. Kein perfektes Rätselspiel, aber ein schönes, emotionales und atmosphärisches Erlebnis. 6,5/10 Punkte

What a stunning game. The mechanics are so simple and yet create such a memorable story. You play as Dei, who follows his mother's adventures through the photos she has sent him. In the end, the swelling music and the gorgeous location brought a tear to my eye. I was overcome with the beauty. The artwork is fantastic, you can feel the love and effort that went each location. The puzzles had a good difficulty as well; complicated enough that it takes some time to figure things out. I will remember this game forever

The puzzles are trickier than Behind the Frame, but I found the story more emotional and touching. Definitely worth picking up if you want a quick, emotionally resonant puzzle game or if you enjoyed Behind the Frame

This game was played in its entirety on a MacBook Air M1 8gb ram 7c gpu running MacOS Sonoma. There were no bugs or crashes throughout my time with the game. All achievements unlocked at their appropriate times. You guys are going to write a happier story next time, right? RIGHT?? I had to start it that way. If you've played this developer's previous game, Behind The Frame, you will know that they excel at telling a wonderful story with a great deal of sadness in it as well. And, yes, they've done it again! A Star Named EOS (asne from here on forward) is an amazing adventure, and it surpasses its predecessor on every metric. Graphics and Animations? Peerless. Not the highest quality. Not the most polygons. But exactly what is needed to tell this story. asne has quite a few cinematic moments, and they are spectacular. The animations on the characters (no spoilers!) is really well done. I wished I could have seen even more, but I was happy with the length of the game so I will not complain about this. Sounds, Music, and Dialogue? Heartfelt, and heartbreaking. There are some amazing pieces of musical artwork in this application. The violins in particular deserve a special mention. I never turned the volume off (which is rare for me!) and I loved listening to each new area's music. The dialogue is really great. There are no grammatical or spelling errors present, though a few of the sentences were (seemingly) created by a non-native speaker. A minor nitpick at worst. Story and Puzzles? This, in my opinion, is the biggest upgrade from Behind the Frame. The story in asne is much more expansive and told very creatively. I absolutely loved the puzzles. They were slightly more involved and convoluted than the first game's, but none are overly difficult or obscure. You should expect to be able to flow through the game at a brisk pace, with few instances of being "stuck" on a puzzle. The camera really brought a lot of inventiveness to the game. It was enjoyable just taking pictures of all the beautiful sights (and they give you plenty of storage room to do so!), but the camera's function within puzzles was quite varied and intriguing. I won't spoil anything here, just realize that the camera is always there for a reason. Overall, asne was just amazing. I loved it. You won't be spending weeks with this one, unfortunately, but it is perfect for a lazy weekend. Maybe keep the tissues handy...10 out of 10 would sandwich again (play the game! then you'll understand).
