The Spooky Island

Finished this game today. Would i recomment it? No. Although I didn't mind this game, I ran into quite a few bugs/issues during my gameplay esepcially near the end. I found key iterms wouldn't picku properly, for example I walked into a room with a stone on it, and only a light showing and 2 skeletons, I would click around for ages and nothing would pickup, but I needed a key to progress to the door, I couldn't find the key anywhere so I came back to the room twice, and on the 3rd time where the light was shining tehre was a key which wasn't even visible or very difficult to see. I eventually picked up the key to progrss. Why couldn't we run during the game? Most of the game, running or even a slow run was disabled except for in the cave near end game where we could sudden;y run to look for the key to rpogress, and there was one small part where we had to run from our friend because he was apparently dead, but that was ut. After these two parts, walking slow was the only option. The textures and graphics weren't teally great especially when we would face our friends? looked likd of blurry but maybe a small studio made this and its the best they could do? Also why did things go blurry like signs on walls when I pressed middle mouse button to zoom? I dind;t like this game much. The jumo scares were tedious and not great. Siund effects often played after the jumpscare, like in the bunker when someone walked past the corridor, the sound played 1-2 after the scare making it less effective. I didn't mind paying $3.25 for this game it was worth the playthrough. There's 2 endings. I onlt did 1, byt maybe one day I might come back to and do the other ending. Wouldn't recommend this game. Took me 2 hours 5 minutes to finish the game. The voiceacting wasn't great either? Was it AI voice acting? Felt like it but the credits show voiceover was done by real humans. Voice acting felt tired and flat. I get it's a horror game but I didn't care for the voice acting, but at least it told a story. 6.5/10 - if there is nothing else on sale, then get this horror game as its alright for 1.5-2 hours play through and there is a 2nd ending too and it has auto saving at checkpoints.

Uff, ich mochte die Vorgängerspiele ja echt gerne aber leider sind die neuesten Spiele einfach nicht gut. Story meh, Atmosphäre meh ... Umsetzung alles in allem einfach nicht spaßig genug für einen Horrortitel. Ich brauche wieder MEHR HORROR und eine geilere Atmosphäre und gute Jumpscares, BITTE!

Things I liked a lot: Voice acting, some comedic beats, and the world was fun! Had some pretty fun moments, and one of the better titles in this devs' playbook. Things I didn't like: Man, I know its 2026 but get that gen ai out of the first area! The casino ads? Cmon, we can do better for sure. Also the pacing was a little off. A lot of walking but not as much suspense or thrills. I think the speed of the character the entire game was tough. Bump up the walking speed a little, maybe give us a slight job on a stamina bar, and we're gucci. Yeah but as of now I dont recommend, though I see the potential for better stuff. Keep up the hard work and dedication, and I'll keep buying!!!

The Spooky Island est une petite expérience d’horreur qui ne paie pas forcément de mine au premier regard, mais qui parvient malgré tout à proposer une aventure plutôt agréable pour son prix très modeste. Le jeu nous met dans la peau de Liam, parti sur une île mystérieuse à la recherche d’un trésor. Très vite, l’expédition prend une tournure inquiétante et l’exploration devient le cœur de l’expérience. On progresse à travers différents environnements – bateau, grotte, île, bunker – ce qui évite la sensation de tourner en rond et maintient un certain intérêt tout au long de l’aventure. Cette variété de lieux donne parfois l’impression de traverser un petit film d’horreur d’exploration, quelque part entre une chasse au trésor qui tourne mal et un récit à la The Blair Witch Project, où chaque découverte soulève davantage de questions. L’histoire est simple mais fonctionne bien. Les notes, les objets et les secrets disséminés sur l’île donnent envie de comprendre ce qui s’est réellement passé. Les jumpscares sont efficaces sans être excessifs et contribuent à maintenir une tension légère mais constante. Cependant, tout n’est pas parfait. Le jeu souffre d’un manque assez flagrant d’énigmes. On passe finalement beaucoup de temps à marcher et explorer, et certains chemins semblent s’étirer un peu trop longtemps. Par moments, l’exploration donne presque l’impression d’un couloir sans fin, ce qui peut casser le rythme. Malgré ces défauts, il faut rester honnête : pour 2,59 €, l’expérience reste largement correcte. On est clairement dans le domaine du petit jeu d’horreur indépendant à faire en une soirée, sans prétention, mais suffisamment intrigant pour garder le joueur curieux jusqu’à la fin. Pour conclure, The Spooky Island offre une courte aventure sombre, mystérieuse et divertissante. Je le recommande, surtout à ce tarif. Terrible game, really poorly made, not scary and voice acting godawful. Got stuck in the dark with no light and quit, wish I could get a refund. Stay away.

Excelente juego, una historia muy interesante. Muy recomendable.
