Wish I could give a positive review because it's a free game and the angel's egg inspired aesthetic was fun, but the odd and inconsistent AI art combined with the fact I managed to run into a dead end half an hour in with no remaining options to progress stop me from doing so. Also, even as someone who likes edgy writing, the writing often went past wordy and into sounding like it was written with a thesaurus pulled up. I found it especially unnatural sounding during the dialogue, and I think it desperately needed some editing to tone it down. Not every line should be written like it's trying to be a profound observation. Also really just want to reiterate how disappointing the AI usage in the art is - especially because it's clear that there was artistic direction in the first place.

For a free game, its not bad. Story isn't terrible and dialogue is quite good at times. There are some deeper aspects to the story, but a lot of the time it goes into surface-level nihilism that is, for a lack of better term, cringe. I cannot get past the AI usage. It makes the art style quite disjunct and puts it all over the place. The style concept is really really cool, I just find it disappointing that its negated by AI. I understand its a free game and the dev spent their personal time doing this, but I also think a human's touch would've made it 10 times better. I am mostly not recommending for the AI usage. Don't spend your time on something only half created by a human.
the game looks promising, but i hate that they used ai for the art
This was the most dreadful, horrific and beautiful Story I've seen in a long time. I was left speechless, amazed and sad. Sad, that it uses genAI. I hope the Dev hires an Artist or an Artist voluntarily helps the dev to replace all genAI in this game, I would even pay for it. I will recommend it with the hope that the Dev removes the genAI parts of it.
I really wanted to like this game, but it ended up being a frustrating experience. The biggest issue is the writing. The game is packed with extremely long dialogues that try very hard to sound deep and philosophical, but most of the time they just feel pretentious and exhausting to read. Another problem is the illusion of choice. The game constantly presents dialogue options that look like they matter, but in reality they barely change anything. No matter what you pick, the outcome is usually the same, which makes the whole decision system feel fake. On top of that, the visuals seem to rely heavily on AI-generated assets. The result is an inconsistent art style that feels generic and soulless. I can't recommend it.
The Solitary Existence of a Little Universe
Basically a copy of critters for sale game. The story might be different but the use of AI so it looks like critters for sale's art seriously...

A short, free, interesting novel that overflows melancholy [Eng and Pt-Br review]
Yes, there is AI in the game's art. But let's be honest, the effects used make the art interesting, and it's relatively consistent, and most importantly, it's a game from a single developer and it's free too. So it's completely acceptable. It's a very melancholic and beautiful game. The journey of two people in a post-apocalyptic world as they search for meaning in their own existence. The monochromatic art style and dithering make the visuals cool. The game also features point-and-click elements and a few very simple puzzles. The plot of what happened to humanity, how it became extinct, what the characters are and these strange creations that appear, in addition to the mix of medieval fantasy with science fiction, is really cool. Overall, for me it was a good experience! And the ending leaves you thoughtful, I like it when the game doesn't explain everything as if you were a little child.
Played until the inconsistent art made me realize it was made with IA. Also, the Italian translation is clearly made with a bad machine translator. If you need AI to make your game, DO NOT MAKE YOUR GAME.
I enjoyed the game.
