About
**A student team project designed to deliver a ~10 minute experience.
The Silence After is a first-person atmospheric horror experience where you step into the role of a survivor wandering through the ruins of a world swallowed by stillness. Drawn forward by a faint and intermittent distress signal, you must navigate an apocalyptic landscape using only touch, intuition, and your rare synesthetic ability, transforming sound into shifting colors that paint brief, fragile shapes in the darkness.
Your surroundings are never fully visible. Instead, the world reveals itself through echoes: the creak of distant metal, the impact of broken glass, the crunch of debris beneath your feet. Each sound becomes a splash of color, outlining paths, obstacles, and hidden dangers. But in the suffocating quiet, you are not alone.
Twisted monsters roam the world; guided not by sight but by instinct and sound. To survive, you must stay quiet, stay low, and use your synesthesia to detect threats before they detect you. Avoid them by slipping through tight spaces, timing your movements, or using environmental noises to misdirect their attention. Every encounter is a test of nerve and awareness; make one wrong sound, and the silence will continue forever.
As you follow the mysterious distress signal, you’ll uncover fragments of what happened to the world, who sent the call for help, and what truly waits at the end of your journey.

A surprisingly high quality game, i got sucked up by a tick or whatever that was.

An interesting premise for a horror game; using sound for sight, utilizing the environment and keeping watch of the things around you works very well. I was unsettled multiple times and I very interested in the worldbuilding and the storytelling. It'd be awesome if something like this could be turned into a full story; but as it stands, it works incredibly well and was a lot of fun. 10/10
buena idea pero mala ejecucion, la optimizacion es pesima que me lo hizo injugable
really good voice acting
The idea behind this game is great, the dev's solution? even greater. I would really like them to turn this into a full 10-20h experience. Great job!
Really cool visual mechanics, but feels more like a proof of concept more than anything. I feel it would have done better if it was more focused on ambient horror instead of having monsters or at the very least having the monster ai be a bit better. I was immediately taken out of the experience as soon as I realized I could just throw bricks at the monsters and they did nothing. I just walked past them too. The hanging creatures were decent if you purposefully destroyed the egg sacs. I also feel like the game underutilizes the echolocation mechanic. It's basically just to be able to see, but that's really it. I would praise it for the fact that to see where you are going requires you to make noise with the downside that making noise attracts the monsters, but it's so pitifully easy to avoid the monsters that it just leaves the mechanic feeling more like a nuisance then anything. Level design was good not to linear and not labyrinthian either. Sounds were good as well. In the end it's good little ambient artistic experience ruined by mediocre ai; The game is made by film school students so I won't really hold that against it, presumably ai not being their forte. For the length of it, about 20-30 mins if you don't care about the collectables like me, I would say it's worth experiencing if you're bored. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend.
buen juego, es corto pero con una dinamica de juego unica, juegenlo
Unique experience with creative enemies. Definitely worth a try
Pretty good horror game. very short, but still good. Plus the concept is really cool (from what I got of it during my playthrough).
