A software update fails and you end up in a test track. The only way out: complete the test track. You can rewind through time, wall run, dash, slide and slow down time to complete the test chambers as fast a possible. Can you beat the fastest time in this FPS movement based game?

Reviews
Ok, this review is a bit biased. The creator of this amazing game is my son and I am proud as hell that he made this. He started working on it at the age of 14 after participating in a game jam. In three years time (and thousands of hours later) he has learned to program in Unreal engine and make models in blender. With friends he did the voices and music (I am in it too). I myself have been playing games since my brother bought a MS back in the eighties, I think it is so incredibly cool he made this game. The Rewind Factory is a bit of Portal story line and a bit of Titanfall 2 game play, with wall jumping and sliding. You can shoot down robots and there is a hidden story line. Go check it out!

Fun stage-based shooter that speed runners are going to enjoy beating. The plot isn't all that significant. You're working at an underground facility where testing are being conducted. Something happens on a completely ordinary day, and you become a test subject in your own experiment. It is the gameplay that is important. The game puts you through a series of tasks, with the goal of destroying all robots and reaching the exit. You may be a scientist, but it does not mean you're helpless. Aside from the wall running, double jump, and ability to rewind time, you also have a gun with an interesting mechanic. Make no mistake: this is still a point-and-shoot game. However, because the gun only has a limited quantity of rounds, you must rewind time to get them back. The good news is that robots stay dead. What bothers me is the gun’s accuracy. You never hit what you're shooting at because bullets exit the gun below the center of your crosshair. As an illustration, if you see a robot's head sticking out and want to go for a headshot, you need to lift the gun slightly. Over 30 stages will put your first-person shooter and platforming abilities to the test. Think again if you believe robots are the only thing keeping you from reaching the exit. Rooms are frequently flooded with lethal water. Fortunately, your traversal abilities allow you to move from wall to wall virtually indefinitely. When it comes to wall-running, there are essentially no restrictions. Different options ensure that everyone can benefit from the game. Aside from the difficulty setting, you can also give yourself more bullets or enable a function that highlights enemies for easier detection. One interesting feature is dynamic difficulty; if you breeze through stages without breaking a sweat, the difficulty goes up. Although you can enjoy and play the game if you're just looking for a fun shooter, the game makes an effort to appeal to the speedrunning community. Every stage has a leaderboard and medals are awarded for the fastest run. Getting the gold medal can be quite hard. However, the game’s unique feature helps a lot. What I like about it is that a single mistake won't ruin your run because rewind also turns back the time. It's so effective that you can go back to the beginning of the stage. And because robots remain dead after rewinding, you can go ahead and destroy every robot before returning to the beginning and finishing the stage with one less thing to worry about. The gun can be customized, but it is merely decorative. Finding parts within the main game unlocks new looks for practically everything, from the sight to the muzzle. It gives the weapon a personal touch while having no affect on performance. Logs are another collectible. They’re interesting to read because they reveal that the company isn’t that great. Unlike gun parts, logs give a hint in which stage they can be found. Even more interesting, logs take you behind the sterile test chambers. A number of extra functions only serve to round out the package. There's a never-ending test chamber that throws random objects at you, as well as a level editor for designing your own chambers. Achievements are also very cool, but at least three are not working: two for finding gun parts and one for dodging a bullet with dash.
very fun and goodlooking game, also the levels feel really progressive and the way you can see someone elses time makes it a bit of a competition for the best time too. the way the logs are scattered through the levels was nicely done because they weren't hard to find if you were trying to search for them but if you don't pay attention you still can miss them really easy.
Basically this game: Gun goes KAPHAOUW But in all seriousness this small fps parkour action indie game sparked some interest in me while watching the dev make it on YT. And i gotta the game turned out not bad, but with flaws(but it costs around 5 euro so for it's price it's pretty average). The gameplay of the game is pretty similar to other games although rewinding time is a really fun addition to the game which makes it more unique. Although i would like to see more mechanics. The game offers different enemies that range from two modes and around three weapons. Which is not bad but could be better. furthermore the level design is pretty good apart from the levels in the darkness. which are confusing, way too dark and a bit boring. Going to the art direction the game took inspiration from Portal and my only three complains are the hand(which looks like a sausage), the UI and the robots. The UI is a bit too bright and looks a bit too saturated and the bots are good for being targets but a bit too simple for my liking. The music is funky and the sounds are crispy though. The story of the game itself is interesting(with an interesting twist) but a bit cliche. But despite the flaws the game itself was all around pretty fun, i could write even more but the review is already long enough. My verdict: You can give it a try if it is on sale, it's pretty fun
Fun parkour shooter held back by some janky movement and unclear level design. I don't particularly like the levels set outside the test chambers - they're linear but lacking in direction, making first attempts a guessing game of which direction to go to avoid invisible walls. The focused and enclosed test chamber levels are much more fun and, fortunately, they make up the bulk of the game. Now, of all the parkour-oriented games I've played, The Rewind Factory has some of the heaviest, most unresponsive controls in the genre. Maybe it's intentional, and it improves somewhat once you get the dash about halfway through the game, but movement (especially in the air) is so sluggish that the predictive fire of the enemies is often impossible to dodge without destroying your momentum. It's far easier and faster to tank every hit and rewind the damage away instead of actually trying to dodge, especially with how large the player hitbox is. It's an enjoyable first attempt, but there's a lot of room to improve. (Kudos for the UI polish and wide range of settings, by the way.)
This is a fairly good movement shooter, and the rewind mechanic is engaging and fun. Only complaints would be that there not enough air control, so you kinda get locked into your momentum and I had a glitch where sometimes I couldn’t ADS. Not exactly the next Titanfall but, definitely worth checking out.
A fun shooter game combined with parkour, good music and a unique twist to it. I mostly found myself really enjoying the wall running, as it's just so smooth and clean! Can recommend to anybody looking for a chill and challenging game :)
