Absolutely awful game. Do not get fooled by those copy-pasted reviews from accounts with only one or two games. Also grammatical errors in those reviews are really obvious... If you want to write fake reviews for your game, learn how to change your style at least a little bit. Also not surprising that most reviewers don't play for more than 5-10 minutes. You want to know why? Because the game has almost zero content. Boring, repetitive, with no real value, even for that price. Not scary, just annoying. Gameplay is completely based on memorizing which path to take. No strategy required. Low effort game.
Curator page here--> DaRevieweD #170 <-- New review every Weekend

"ALTERNATIVE TITLE: WRONG TURN!!"
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2778832912 Here's The Thing: You are the not-so-little Red Riding Hood on your way to gammy’s house through the usual misty and killer-infested woods. How the elderly woman is still not butchered to this day is miraculous! But alas, she must have misplaced the directions or is up to her haughty self… That’s why we’re in this bloody mess~
[+] PROS;

:) A BASKET CASE GONE WRONG~
This is a running simulator; bet that caught you off guard. Try it, you just can’t walk… From a red mist/wall (whose existence absolutely makes no sense, but whatever!) and killer, specifically… or if I’m being completely transparent, to avoid running into the killer! It’s also a memory simulator where there’s a bunch of signage, forks and crossroads to turn you around. But hold your horses, the routes are already pre-determined and won’t change with each death. It’s designed for you to throw caution to the wind; but if you hoof it fast enough or meet your maker many times, you’d just might be able to backtrack at the sight of the predator lying in wait. It’s actually a surprisingly short one. About 15 minutes or so, even 5 minutes tops. If you know the way, that is. Or maybe you had the good(?) fortune of stumbling halfway through unscathed. BUT then wait, you had your ears ambushed by the way-too shrill huntsman (who is totally not from Dead by Daylight) consequently forgetting which paths you had gone down… True story. Then I could see how that $6 pays for itself~
TIPS:
1) Get a paper or one of them newfangled memo apps, start noting down where you went wrong. Literally! 2) Or… actually there are certain tells as to which routes are the inevitably bad ones.
:) HIT-OR-MIST!
Let’s be honest, for once. Setting-wise, there isn’t much going for it. Besides your typical neck in the woods schtick which you will get sick of probably by the fifth or sixth run. If you’re real resilient… wait for it; TENTH, be still my beating heart! However, I will say it has some nice wispiness to it with the slasher staple moonlight jutting from the tree tops. The dense fogginess that does not welcome you in any way, a point the killer may gladly dispute. But which will envelop your vision and swallow you whole. There’s a certain air of the place being out-of-touch and I’m not simply referring to its dark storybook vibe. More that it reflects a child’s way of visualizing the foreign and grotesque stranger danger of a world. How I wish there was more of that~ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2778833552
:) HOOD THAT BE AT THIS HOUR?
The story is one most would be overly familiar, what with being from their childhood and all. So the dangers that follow won’t be a surprise. But, to see it updated for a modern slasher audience was quite pleasant. Instead of a literal wolf, it’s a creep behind a mask because of course it is! Minus the animal conversation, deceit and foreplay- this just goes for the kill right away. There isn’t much in the way of fleshing out the narrative beyond that, but the killer has a certain towering and sharp mystique that begets questions to run amok in your mind! I never realized- more like I forgot really, how losing one’s way can be so catastrophically traumatic… Especially for a child, and more so when there’s a madman on the loose~
[-] CONS;

:( SIGNS OF TROUBLE.
Brevity is the only way it could have been pulled off. However, it’s not strictly about a matter of length as it is replay value. It has that dreadful feeling akin to a minigame that took the place of an already-shelved and fuller final product or a mobile title like Temple Run where it pits your endurance to the test. You’ll experience everything it has to offer in like the first fifteen minutes. Or rather, first few deaths. It also lacked a gratifying and meaningful conclusion… In that it ends so abruptly like you’re on a picnic just about to sit and bite into an apple but someone yells “we gotta go” or it suddenly rained~
:( THERE’S NOTHING LEFT, RIGHT?
Much like the game’s direction, it felt a bit aimless and even ends up going circles around itself. Not implying the game is unfair at all, but just that it skimped and missed out on what could have been something more memorable. The wall of red’s only purpose is to throw you off, trick you into making a fatal decision… And the main masked threat gets sic on you if you trigger its detection radius and it hacks you three times in the same gusto and torque each time. Both fall flat in raising any tension at all, except for the one going on between your keyboard and fingers… I would have preferred perhaps a more dynamic sense of scaring the players. For instance, instead of an immediate kill right away and having no means to struggle back. A chase ensues until you reach the next signpost! A more elaborate version is… let’s assume you’ve already settled down a path. But then you see a silhouette in the thick mist ahead- naturally prompting you to turn the other way. Only to have the killer spawn behind you and yet another chase gets initiated, in true slasher fashion! These would be more in line with the “don’t stop moving” core philosophy. Another alternative is tormenting the player by falsely getting you worked up on a path that you could have sworn was 100% safe. Which drums up hesitance on your part- and you don’t realize the sea of red closing in until too late~
:( NOT THE APPLE OF MY EYE…
The sound design similarly lacked grace and careful orchestration! Aside from the main theme, the rest come off one-note without much variety. You’ll hear the same identical, rhythmic heavy breathing whenever you begin to run. And the forest ambiance discernibly loops over and over! Every plod of your footstep has that done-to-death crinkling of grass. The killer’s “alerted” ominous sting is utterly piercing that I just didn’t bother to hear anything else it has… which mind you, is nowhere near atmospheric for starters. Why not add a hum, rustling of shrubbery to give the illusion of being watched?! Just give me anything~
BUGS:
x No red flags!
NITPICKS:
~ No actual chase scenes… HMPH! ~ No saves, which is irritating no doubt. But I can’t see any way around it. ~ No settings option to tweak anything at all. ~ The two props you carry become so ingrained to your vision. They are obviously useless! Why not use an apple or something to mark the paths?
"- SONG TITLE: AXES AND OH-NOS…"
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2778833891 Last Words? No-nonsense running simulator in the guise of Little Red Riding Hood. Cheap thrills at a dear price. Could be scarier had it not get routine fast with no payoff. Just decent; sometimes that’s enough~ If you like horror games that don’t have any of those fluffy stealth sequences and instead you just want pure adrenaline, up to a point! If you love to test your intuition and memory, all while running for dear life. Then The Red Hood has a spot for you, just not for very long~
6 / 10

Sending a gift basket to Egutidze as thanks for the key~

Don't forget to follow my curator DaRevieweD for more games!!

Warning: Asset Flip! The Red Hood is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a Unity forest asset and made an incredibly shallow jumpscare runner game where all you do is run forward and hope you don't get jumpscared. That's really all there is to this incredibly shallow and lazy asset flip from a serial Steam polluter. It has no value or merit as a real game. Egutidze/My Way Games have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Miniballist" = Endless Turns developed by SGLib Games
"Extreme Racing On Highway" = Highway Racer developed by BoneCracker Games
"The Hunt in the Forest" = Advanced Sniper Starter Kit developed by Hardworker Studio
"Mine the Gold" = Gold Miner Century developed by SplayGame Official
"Muscle Car Robot" = Muscle Car Robot developed by GameNing
"Top Burger" = Top Burger Chef developed by KetchAp
"Dinosaur Bone Digging" = Dinosaur Bone Digging Games developed by Ardian Kaltara
"Trivia Night" = Trivia Quiz Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"CubeXL" = Switch The Gravity developed by App Advisory
"Space Force" = X-Racer developed by Deer Cat
"Extreme School Driving Simulator" = Realistic Car Controller developed by BoneCracker Games
"Extreme Truck Simulator" = Crazy Cargo Truck Driver developed by Dive Sole
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying sound/background music, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop it using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? The Red Hood is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
This is a very short game, maybe just double the length of the demo on itch.io. I did enjoy it but damn it doesn't have much substance. You quickly get to a point where you've seen everything and you either stop playing or force yourself to finish. I do recommend this game because it is a nice experience and its cheap but you could easily find the demo and play that. Pros: + It looks fantastic, the trees, the fog, the lighting, everything comes together really well + Jumpscare is good but only if you don't see the killer + Sound design is pretty good and works well with the flow of the game + Interesting design to the killler + Gameplay in general is good but very repetitive (I suggest extra things in the video review) Cons: - The Jumpscare is way too loud and there is no settings to change it - You can see the killer standing in your way most of the time so you can just turn around and go the other way - Lacks substance, it's the same assets throughout the whole game, changing it up a bit would be good especially if you could see the killer outside of the game area and in the forest lurking I explain more in my video review.
