So, jetzt reicht's echt mit dem Spiel. Ich will wirklich gerne wissen, was es mit der Geschichte auf sich hat aber nein. Einfach nein!
It appears this game is far from market ready. 1. Quests being completed before all necessary objectives are achieved. 2. Very long distances to walk without anything to interact with, boring and makes your thumb tired. 3. Very few objects to interact with 4. Some of the objects you can interact with are very cumbersome and your success is luck, not skill 5. The story line is boring and cumbersome. Yet it's necessary to read full pages just in case it holds a clue 6. Only holds two saved games. Impossible to go back 3 or 4 steps. You have to start the game over 7. Not even 1/4th of the way through the game, it crashed. Neither saved games work. I'd have to start from the beginning. The game wasn't near exciting enough to even care how it ends. I'm done with it. I seriously don't recommend this game at all
First of all, I don’t understand why the large map is one of the advertised things of this game, when most of it is just empty and not particularly good looking. After walking all over the map for 8+ hours now, the map is mainly boring and ugly. At first the point of interest are fairly “close” together, meaning you are only walking a few minutes to get from point A to point B. Eventually these distances grow significantly until you are walking 20-30 minutes (or more of you get lost). If it was at least possible to move quickly through this emptiness but, no. You can “run” but it only makes you ever so slightly faster, it is just a pain. You also randomly stop running sometimes. The path you take in this game is badly designed. Not only are some of the locations way too far apart, often you are tasked with climbing a mountain but in order to do that you have to walk around it because you can only go up from the backside, adding more distance you have to cross. Or you have to take detours to get down a steep hill or because a random piece of path is not walkable etc. If there was ANYTHING to see while walking, I wouldn’t even be mad but there is only the same tree hundreds of times, the same group of flowers,… If there were animals or houses or random objects you could find, more pages or whatever - fine! But walking through ugly looking forest and desert is tiring after an hour or so. And when you do find something, the locations are not really impressive either; most houses have the same design, the same objects in them, even a prison is very boring to explore because it consists mainly of cells and outdoor toilets. Worst of all: the game only saves when you enter or exit s location. If you have to walk for 20 minutes and the game crashes or you die or cannot finish the journey because of real life, too bad, start over from the last checkpoint! It is really sad that the game gets more and more annoying the longer you play because the story is nice, i also enjoy the treasure hunt kinda gameplay, some of the weathers are really nicely done, etc. But the longer i play the less i enjoy it because of previously listed issues. Very sad.
I try to never give a bad review on a game but this one is just senseless, if like me I play a game sporadically I need reminders of where to go and what to do this game I found myself lost and confused as from one day to the next there are no reminders what I'm searching for so I ended up walking blindly until I just gave up trying it has nice scenery but it has no point, sorry I can't recommend this one!
This game is THE VERY DEFINITION of a walking simulator! lol! Yes, there are vast walking distances between destinations, but I found this to be very relaxing and meditative! I loved how you would hear nature waking up with every sunrise, and the weather system was cool! The thunderstorms were a little frightening, and I was a little apprehensive about getting struck by lightening while on the open plains! The story was very well written! It is told through letters left by your father, as well as letters and diary pages left by residents, scientists, cult leaders, and people from all walks of life, all found in completely abandoned places! There are plot twists and stories overlapping other stories! If you enjoy a good narrative, nature, and walking, I highly recommend this game!
I would give this game a cautious recommendation. It's certainly a long game that includes a LOT of walking, and a LOT of reading. Environments are pretty and the notes are interesting and exceptionally well written. There are some things, however, that prevent this game from standing with the greats. First: There is no Real Time Save. This is a HUGE problem, because we're talking about a MASSIVE map to travel through, and save points are quite rare. Second problem is getting stuck to some doors and window frames or similar places. The character sometimes manages to get himself to a position, where you cannot free yourself anymore, and the only ironic option is to load a saved game - yes - from the last checkpoint. Third problem includes some issues with scrolling, that the devs haven't been able to sort out. Sometimes there is very big lagging in the scrolling. It isn't unusual for the game to even freeze for a couple of moments, until the scrolling continues, firstly stuttering, and then smoothing to normal. This is not a hardware issue, and it doesn't go away no matter how hardcore your gaming machine is. It's coding / software problem, and there is nothing you can do about that. All in all, a decent game with good visuals and great writing. Technically it's unfortunately not so solid, but at least there's a lot of game to be had.
One of the best walking simulators ever developed.
Relaxing.
I wanted to like it, but it had a couple problems like having no sprint the physics being kinda silly. The game was also really boring like more then other games in the genre. It also didn't resister that i did some of the things. the game looks nice and the video really hooked me. but i'm just a bit disappointed.
