Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 7 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Run for President in the latest edition of Stardock’s popular political strategy game series, The Political Machine 2024. Choose from a roster of existing candidates including Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Dean Phillips and Nikki Haley or create your own using the game’s candidate creation workshop.
A Powerful Simulator
Below the game exterior is a powerful political simulator that’s been featured on MSNBC, CNBC, and FOX News in past elections to accurately predict past Presidential elections including the 2004 focus on Ohio and the 2016 election of Donald Trump.
Each state has been meticulously researched for the latest local and national political issues and factored in with the latest demographic data to ensure that players who know the real-world political landscape will find a game the rewards their knowledge and skill.
Competing Ideology
The game takes a nuanced approach to both Democrats and Republicans with each candidate subscribing to their own ideology that helps differentiate a Democrat such as Bernie Sanders from a Democrat such as Kamala Harris as well as Republican differences between Vivek Ramaswamy and Mike Pence.
Political Action Cards
New in the 2024 edition of the game is a new concept called Political Action Cards (PACs). Determined by your Ideology, these are politically themed actions players can take to help their own campaign or disrupt their opponent. Use a well-timed Fact Check card to throw off a rival’s political message or uncover a long-hidden scandal your opponent has tried to hide. Politics is a contact sport.
Primaries
Also new in the 2024 edition are primary competitions. Compete against 3 other candidates in your own political party to win the party’s nomination starting from before the Iowa Caucus and ending with the convention.
Play single player against the computer or multiplayer against other human opponents.
Practice your Politics - A sophisticated underlying simulation model uses census data and real issues to test your political savvy.
Run against the opposing party’s nominee for President to gather the 270 electoral votes needed on election day or against other members of your political party to obtain the delegate count to become your party’s nominee.
Choose your Candidate - Play as one of several candidates, each with their own custom stats like stamina, intelligence, charisma, media bias, and more.
Create a Candidate - Customize your own front runner and race for the White House.
NEW! Compete in the primary campaign - Outperform the three other candidates in your party to secure the highest number of delegates. Focus on winning key caucus states early to gain a competitive edge over your rivals.
NEW! Deploy Political Action Cards - Utilize your Political Capital strategically to undermine your opponents and bolster your campaign. Invest in cards that demand political capital for significant, election-swinging effects, ensuring your actions leave a lasting impact on the race.
NEW! Participate in the Presidential Debates - A battleground state is selected for candidates to express their support or opposition on the most pressing issues. Utilize this platform to either garner support or risk negative reactions from the audience. Strategically challenge an opponent’s position to sway public opinion in your favor.
Deliver impactful speeches - Assert your position on pivotal issues, utilizing your stamina judiciously. Opt to either endorse or contest particular topics within chosen states, or tactically expose an adversary's stance.
Establish specialized campaign headquarters - Enhance your electoral strategy. Focus on constructing buildings that either increase your funding, provide valuable cards, or amplify your messaging efforts. Choose the specialization that best supports your campaign goals to gain a competitive advantage.
Manage your Campaign Budget - Purchase advertisements, travel across the country to campaign, and hire operatives to enhance your PR or cripple your opponent.
Be Ready for Anything - Torrid affairs, natural disasters, email scandals, and other “breaking news” events can pop up and change the direction of the campaign for better or worse.
Check your Standings - With poll tracking and leaderboards, you can see how well people are playing as their candidates or what issues they are supporting over time.

big day for chronically online people
I have Political Machine 2016, 2020, and 2024. For some reason the devs have consistently made this game worse as the years go by. 2020 is a tolerable step down from 2016. But 2024 is terrible in comparison. I don't have high hopes for the 2028 edition.
It gets repetitive after a bit, and considering there are practically zero updates, it's not worth 20$. Buy the Political Process for a more fun and well-rounded experience.

I didn't bother with 2020 because 2016 was such a dud, but 2024 somehow surpassed it. I bought this a long time ago and figured well, shoot, surely they must've improved? Well, at least you can have infinite points for custom candidates, so you can finally give them an actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platform! But it turns out that they gimped the character creation, aesthetically speaking. They all resemble rigid, low-effort, blocky plastic Roblox toys rather than actual bobblehead caricatures with floating hair and unoptimized (clipping, warping) clothing options. You want to make the first female president? Well, there's no unique female body template. The game forces a female head onto that exact same blocky male suit chassis, making every custom woman look like a bizarrely deformed, wide-shouldered monster. and the devs prioritized joke assets like robot parts and astronaut helmets in their DLC instead of giving us basic human customization, normal professional hairstyles, or fixing assets recycled from The Political Machine 2020. Probably because they wanted to cash in on Freedom Cheeseburger Man-esque memes rather than providing a coherent, stimulating experience, and as soon as I saw this, I just knew I wasn't going to have any fun, but I tried, y'know? I wanted to put in a real effort, but in the end, it didn't even matter. Once again, there's no third parties, and the gameplay is the exact same like it was in prior titles, with tacked on cards. Once again, you either have to be a Democrat (according to Reddit) or a Republican (according to Twitter); there's no options to align with some such faction within either camp. There's no intrigue, there's no opportunity to tell a compelling story based on player choice; it's all so basic. You want to be a modern day Earl Browder or Robert La Follette? Sorry, no can do! And the candidates you can pick from, if you'd rather not bother with creation, are the same boilerplate bunch you've come to expect, but where's the fun in that? You're essentially buying this game to do the exact same (insert past Democrat figure) vs Trump (or vice versa) matchup you could've done in 2020 or 2016. Stock mobile game-esque gameplay, no real creative freedom, a slapdash at best presentation....yeah, once again, Stardock burned me. Well, y'know the saying, right? Fool me once and all that? Well, I'm no longer going to bother with this series, or these devs for that matter. What a colossal waste of potential. I know now why I ended up delaying actually playing this for so long. It's so sad that we went from the OG Crisis in the Kremlin and Shadow President to memeslop like this and the CitK remake. And people wanna cry about how "AI slop" is the problem when they give ♥♥♥♥ like the latter a pass for over a decade?
I do like the game for what it is, but holy crap its repetative, you. cant give your candidates unqiue political beliefs like in 2020, and there is no third-party system. definitly not worth 20 bucks for not getting any updates.
Had potential but has largely been abandoned by the devs in its barebones state. Likely will just be forgotten for the next release in 2028 anyway. Got it when it came out, but now regret it. Not worth the price.
I didn't even play it before refunding because I hate that the game reduces something as complex as politics into a handful of card decks.
This game is a significantly worse and dumbed down version of 2016 with a lot less room for both strategy and creativity. One of the worst cases of brand based scam i have ever encountered. I was extremely stupid and bought it on a sale, which turned out to be the worst financial decision of my life.
chicken nugget
Anything below medium is too easy and anything above that too deterministic unless you're playing a short campaign.
