This game is made by 1 Sole person; Danstarr13
He is the Programmer, Sound Designer, 3D Artist, and the Creator. For 1 Dev / Free-to-Play / No Pay-to-Win This game is not as bad as you think it would be. Let's be honest, The game doesn't need to be a Top Notch Survival Experience better than the others. It comes down to one thing; Interest, Who will enjoy a change in variety. Who is the Audience?
Don't expect a brand new Next-Gen Survival game. At this state, I only recommend this game to people who are interested in helping Dan to achieve his Dedication and hard work to forsee a greater Development.
There are of course many bugs; the game is going through a lot of Player Support and Bug Reports. There will be alot of hate towards this game, mostly because people just can't be bothered. If you are interested in the Development: Discord: https://discord.gg/Czwmmkx Website: Parallaxgame.com (Will be making Updates on this Review as the game Progresses) Update 1: The game has recieved very well updates and Performance is greatly Increasing. Thank you to everyone supporting this game, Looking forward to see who makes it till the end.

To Whoom it may concern, Dev is working hard at improving the game, Very helpfull with issues. This game has alot of potential and I look forward to the updates. Kind Regards, TheLegend27
NOTE: This review is solely based on single-player gameplay. I have not tested multiplayer and nor will I for the time being. REVIEW: I think it's fantastic that this young man created a early-access game. Mind you this man, has no one else to help him with this project. I think the thought of the game is good. It's not optimzed properly, but don't expect it to. The story in first 15 minutes, takes a bit of time getting used to. PROS: + Attempt of storyline + Singleplayer + Multiplayer Surival + FREE to play + Many settings for changing graphics + Audio/Sound is fantastic CONS: (Note there will be alot however, I strongly encourage the dev to take a look at these) - Laggy at times - When it says you can crouch or prone, well.. you can crouch your way through a prone area - Swimming in water is a bit glitchy, not understanding why. - If you EXCEED 1920x1080 you will not be able to see some of things in rooms and builings. (Not sure why) *****YOU CAN ACCESS CONSOLE & TELEPORT AROUND***** (can be abusive) *I do think there is potential, but were far from done. I will keep this game in the back of my head, and with hopes of more improved updates to help further play this game. For the time being, I believe this game is worth the try, however any longer then a half an hour I don't see it worth. Really good attempt. However, it's a no from me.
Sure there are some bugs here and there, but this game is a blast. I've had a great time running around the quite expansive map, collecting loot, building armor, and fighting wild animals. In he first three days I've been playing, the game has already recieved an update which is great to see. Overall fun game and I've heard that it's one dude developing it, which is incredible!
As much as I enjoy running around as a half naked carboard man being chased by people infected by a virus that makes them look like crab people, this game will obviously have some problems. Like, if you pick up something with a full inventory, the thing you picked up disapears. All in all though, I see some real potential for this game, and I recommend playing it.
I initially found out about this game from a friend of the developer informing me about it, and promised myself to play it, if only to give feedback. The Parallax Effect is a weird name, because before playing it, I had no idea what the game was going to be about. Parallax is basically a distance in measurement, and I wasn't sure if that would tie in to a sombie survival game. Well, I played the game. And I'm still not sure how parallax ties into it. Opening up the game I found out that I had to have an account to do multiplayer, and since I wasn't going to play it for long, I thought "Buggar that". So I have no idea what the multiplayer is like. I played the singleplayer tutorial, which is basically you going through a set of linear steel boxes going down the tutorial checklist, though oddly,, there was no vehicles. The settings were really limited, and though I get that it's an early access game, fully working settings are still a MUST HAVE for even an early access. The animations are very weird as well, especially the character animations. But the worst thing of all are the weapons. You get a gun, and sure, you are initially excited, but you know how you have crosshairs, that help you aim? Well they go away when you go into aim mode, but stay when you are not, THEY DO THE OPPOSITE OF A CROSSHAIR'S JOB. You also wobble around like a drunk when you try to aim. I get what the developer was trying to do, but it shaking way too much. I replayed the tutorial to check if I wasn't just hallucinating, and I found even more stuff. You can run through the crouch and crawl blocks of the tutorial, and when you holster the gun and look down you clip through your body. But let's start with my experience with my first game. I wake up in a building, enjoyed scavenging it (Which I wish there was more of) and swam to shore, nearly drowning because when I put my head above the water my character doesn't breathe. I scavanged a plantation the size of a living room, and ran up the road to be killed a wolf (Which was alone, and not in it's natural habitat). I couldn't even kill it because the guns are so shoddy in this game. I respawned, got my stuff, raided a house, found some tanks casually lying around, couldn't hit a deer because the gun is stupid and drove around with a jeep. I found that the jeep had wheels of ice, and a fuel can the size of a tomato sauce bottle. I had no idea to get out of the car, as the tutorial and the controls didn't say anything, so I just started pressing random buttons hoping something would work. Maybe if I depleted all the fuel from the vehicle it would eject me out? Well I tried, but one of the buttons I pressed must have been a cheat code because I never ran out of fuel. It just stayed at 2%. Then I quit. Keep in mind I haven't met a single zombie in that entire time. Not in any houses, not when I ran around shooting a gun, not while driving. So basically: Make some optimisations, change the animations, make the settings work, and update the tutorial.

Knowing this is in Early Access, I have been having tons of fun running around mostly looking for bugs and practicing crafting. Lots of gamers are helping report bugs and work out gliches. Lots of work still to be done, but the Dev is working endlessly to fix bugs and expand the game. I love the look of the game and the feel of the map, and can't wait for each update (which come almost daily). This is going to be a great game! Pro-tip: DO FEAR THE REAPER!!! ***Update - Dev has been updating game VERY often with bug fixes and little bits of new content. Things are coming along nicely. The game runs very well on my PC, and I have the settings at max. With future updates the optimization will continue to improve. And Multi-servers are on the way!
[strike]Perfect Great Decent[/strike]
☑☑☑ Painfully Average ☑☑☑
[strike]Garbage[/strike]
Saved a game but it instantly gets deleted automatially, Would give Garbage but u can play single-player so that's good
This was re-reviewed after 6 months (because the dev asked), new review is at bottom. all guns are single fire mode, when in pause menu your clicks and button presses still affect the game, gun ADS and bullet spread are terrible, and the worst part is how dark the game is even on full brightness and gamma (the flashlight only works for about 2 feet and bobs everywhere when moving). the darkness and pause menu bug are what moved this from bad to terrible, that's basic stuff you see in the first minutes of playing and it's gone unnoticed or unfixed!! update (6 months)- The pause menu was fixed but you can do the same in any other menu (this could be seen as a bug or feature), the single fire guns was my mistake, ADS is still bad, flashlight is still weak and wildly bobs and the game is still very dark. i have also discovered that food and water empty in minutes, the inventory is extremely small, a basic fox can 2-3 shot you, and when it gets dark a 'boss' will spawn and **** you (a partial assumption as on my first night i had "corruption" (one of said bosses) spawn literally on top of me). Props to making a game on your own that isn't horrible and getting rid of the registration system, the game is playable but is not for me.
