While the story might be a bit challenging to grasp, it remains interesting, and the puzzle difficulty is just right. If you're looking for a puzzle game that you can play casually and enjoy, I recommend it.

Instant Rusty Lake vibes with the style and gruesomeness. The puzzles are all logical and make sence, the story - not so much, but that was kind of expected. The alternative ending is not so much alternative, but it's nice to get something extra. Lovely game, do recommend.

Dieses Spiel hat mich sehr an die von Rusty Lake erinnert, die ich geliebt habe wegen ihres skurrilen schwarzen Humors und der manchmal gar nicht so einfachen Rätsel. Ich habe sie ALLE. Und nun auch die Serie von diesen Entwicklern - ganz mein Ding Also: Wer Rusty Lake liebt, der mag sehr wahrscheinlich auch alle aus dieser Serie!

Since all games in the series are created with the same visual style, interface, and gameplay, the same review works for all of them. The only change is the location, and more importantly, logical puzzles that make you think. The gameplay revolves around clicking on the screen with a mouse. Nothing is highlighted or marked, so you’re encouraged to click on anything that stands out. Because the art style is minimalistic, each location contains only essential elements and rarely includes distracting details that might pull your attention away from solving the puzzles. Clicking on a hotspot brings up a close-up view, and from there you can often interact with another object for an additional close-up. This allows you to pick up items and store them in your inventory or manipulate elements such as buttons and switches. Nearly every interaction requires a clue, so you can’t simply click randomly and expect to stumble upon the solution. The entire experience centers on logic puzzles that must be solved in specific steps. Since I played the latest game in the series first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the very tricky puzzles. Fortunately, this first game is a lot more accessible and fits more into the standard experience you can expect from a puzzle game of this genre. You will still have to think about the solutions, but you won’t have to look too much into deciphering clues because they are simple. Some of the puzzle are classic, such as sliding puzzle or following a pattern, but if you spend too long at them, the game offers you a hint that makes it easier. There is quite a lot of item usage similar to traditional adventure games, but the mechanic is simple. You activate an item in your inventory with a click, and it remains active until you click it again, making it easy to test it on different objects. Since you’re limited to a single room per chapter, you won’t have many options. This first game will also introduce you to the game’s details and lore that keeps repeating throughout the series. There’s the hand that comes out of a mouse hole and exchanges items with you, a sheep that apparently had a lobotomy, and a dark little creature that might be connected to a family who went through a tragic event.
