Full disclosure I got a copy of this from the developer (thanks!). This is a very short "game", more of a quick interactive novel if anything. There is really not much to say about this one. I think the developer has definite potential as the style and functionality of the game works well. But there is no real story here or gameplay to speak of so I am kind of at a loss as to what to say. The game is pretty cheap at $2 but honestly if i spent that I would feel i wasted it. Again I'd be interested to see what the developer comes up with in the future as I think the talent is there, but this one is a pass from me.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
This comes across as more of an attempt to get YOUR money than anything else... yeah at face value this looks like a sincere game but really it's a short tech demo slapped together with Godot and AI slop with a price tag on it. A short, pointless and poorly written "more book than game" point and click "adventure" with a lame science fiction theme about protecting the timeline... I think it's remarkable, because I watched all of DC's Legends of Tomorrow which was all about protecting timelines too, and that was utter garbage, and, despite being only 30 minutes long, this is way, way worse. The game is very very short and can be finished in 30 minutes. Developers have at least some responsibility to provide enough content to make a game last more than an hour or so if they're serious about providing something of value to gamers. There's less content here than some free game demos. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here. You can always spot lazy shovelware when the developer doesn't even bother including basic options like customisable display settings, graphics tweaks, or control remapping. In this case, the developer did not include a settings menu at all. It's obvious this is a lazy, minimum viable product cash grab. With no settings menu, the controls can't be customised at all, which will frustrate many players, but more seriously it can render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers, or anyone on an AZERTY or other international keyboard layout or non-QWERTY layout. Because there's no option to change the resolution and no graphics tweaks whatsoever, so there's no way to ensure this even runs at your display's native resolution, or tailor it to run smoothly with your hardware. Fail. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2026 (and this was released not so far back in 2026), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware. Those technical issues put this game beneath what is expected from a contemporary, professionally developed PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. It's hard to describe this as a game, the focus is more like that of an e-book/visual novel, there's only minor, shallow and uninteresting gameplay elements. The crux of this is to push some very low quality, badly done fan-fiction tier writing, where we see once more a developer fail to understand the importance of "Show, don't tell", and for whatever reason, weren't able to convey their narrative through gameplay, giving us endless lines of badly written e-book text instead. My gaming rig is not a kindle. Next is pricing and value. Is this game worth buying from among the 140,000+ games on Steam? The Node is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. The quality problems and defects with this game makes the asking price totally unrealistic. It's impossible to recommend this to gamers here on Steam. The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. AI models are trained on copyrighted intellectual property without permission from the owners. Using AI slop in a published product should be seen as supporting these copyright violations.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Muy entretenido y sencillo de jugar !! Se hace corto; recuerda a las antiguas aventuras graficas;
Short, charming, and full of great references.
Un juego muy cortito, pero entretenido, me he quedado con ganas de más.
