The Nightmare

Taking influence from the likes of P.T. and Layers of Fear, you walk through dark halls and explore scary rooms, all the while your settngs alter around you (typically behind you) as the foundation cxontinues to get immersed in flame. For one dollar US currency, you end up with roughly thirty minutes of cheesy spooky walk-fueled game play that is about what you expect for its price point. Until the end, that is, which elevates this into something more amateurish as far as the theme goes. There's no real story, so the devel;opers really needed to rely on the atmosphere here. Sadly, this one stands just abve the bar of a family friendly haunted house Halloween attraction. While The Nightmare isn't exactly bad, it's just a really simple horrific walking simulator with an ending that doesn't pay out for half hour you sink in. The phrase "you get what you pay for" can't be any more appropriate to use here. As a time waster or something to ease yourself into this genre, the price point is reasonable, though I'd still wait for a sale to feel truly satisfied with the experience if not diving in for the achievements (which all unlock through natural gameplay).
