*informational review Strategy + mechanics - bugs = Worship the gods and conquer the corrupt king. Had potential, however no updates since 2 years ago. We had waited to see the progress before reviewing. Slightly complex.
Follow our curator for similar games
TBS inspired by Disciples 2, HoMM, and Battle for Wesnoth among others (according to the developers). It's a average title with good artwork, solid music, and a bit of base building and has a quite unique combat system which relies on positioning. English translation is a bit iffy and the tutorial was mediocre with four or five pages with a few sentences each, and it doesn't help that there are no tooltips uppon hovering over icons and buildings, it's only when you've built something that you get information on what it does. I can recommend it, barely, because it has enough features and content to make it stand out, but there are better choices out there as Mystic is a very 'clumsy' game. Moving and rotating units feels a bit awkward like it was developed as a mobile game. Placing down buildings is confusing because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and the game's lacks of tooltips means you have no idea of what you're doing wrong. Interacting with the UI feels rather cumbersome as well, it's difficult to explain but once you're ingame you'll understand. Overall it works, I don't regret buying it, but I don't think it's a game I will spend hours and hours on.
Game is improving a lot trough the EA. Even now i find it god offer. I'm looking for the campaign.
great concept and interesting mechanics, but the game has many bugs. I put it positive because I want to see the game be successful, but honestly the bugs are too serious, so much so that I can't play
