"The Moonlight Circus" is a simple student project/tech demo for VR. You're in a spooky circus. You look around, etc etc, in amazing VR... yep, VR support is all this has going for it. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It looks a bit like they "borrowed" some stock assets for this one... if so, that's something instructors should not be encouraging that students do. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. It's a shallow and limited tech demo.

This game has a lot of heart to it, you can tell. But that being said there were quit a few problems. The controls are not intuitive by any means, there were quite a few minor bugs like not dying when i was supposed to, and times where i was confused on where to go. But there are some positives, good story though short, good atmosphere, and pretty good voice acting. But above all its free, but if it wasn't free i would not recommend it. It just needs that little push to be great. But I suggest you try it, its free so your not losing anything.
weird movement made me nauseous
Too dark to see anything. Unintuative control scheme to move (swing arms and press both face buttons).
pretty scary but needs some minor fixes with ai and movement.
A free, fun, short experiment with a creepy atmosphere, a few jump scares and some good voice acting. The physics puzzles and climbing sections were a lot of fun - would have liked to climb more. Not really a fan of the walking mechanic - it made running away from the villain a bit more comical (and harder) than it was supposed to be. Still an enjoyable experience and really impressive for a student project.
its good
