Overall it is a good game, especially if you consider that it is a free VR experience. Arm Swinging Movement and pacing is debatable, probably not the best idea either, but if you can look past that, you should try it. But there's one important thing many seems to forget or they don't even notice it because they're not reading the description of the game. "The Moonlight Circus" was developed by 4 students in a three months time frame for multiple VR Plattforms (Vale, Oculus theoretically HTC Vive). Whoever expects to get a completely bug-free and polished game that entertains you for hours has simply illusory ideas about video game production. As far as you can see the devs put a lot of work into it. Even though it's probably not perfect give it a try, it might be fun and worth it, it won't cost you much more than an hour of your time.

New Positive review for Index = The Moonlight Circus is a free VR game. It worked on my Index system, looked ok, played Ok, sounded ok. This is a college coding project. You are dumped into a creepy circus tent. First time i tried it, ended up dead in 5 seconds and had to restart the mission. Uses arm swinging to move, but you hold a button down at the same time as you swing. Very creepy and dark scary environment. Maybe try this for free, if you like scary escape rooms or scary games. Old Negative review for HTC Vive = The Moonlight Circus is a free VR game. It worked to a point on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played No. Stuck in the lobby with no working buttons on my controllers, even though i see my controllers. This game might have been made / tested for one VR system only, Not the Vive, or the bindings are all messed up. Has one instruction card for other system controllers in the lobby. This is a coding college project. i found on the store description "HTC Vive Users: If you use a vive you have to change the controller mappings, for example switch the menu button on both sides to left primary and right primary in the SteamVR settings. Example image is in the folder with the game files. Tried changing the binding with 3 community made binding, none worked. Tried editing a binding using the suggestion on store page, not working. It is the job of the Devs to also make the bindings for each system that they support and fill out the game requirement page correctly. Stupid Valve removed the filtering options for each HMD system from the store search list and let devs not fill out what HMDs that they support on the game requirements. Maybe try this game, if you have another VR system besides HTC Vive."
I was about to give this a negative review because of the movement style choice... Arm swinging... and a snail pace at that... ugh, this makes the experience a lot less enjoyable. But honestly, other than that, the ambience is excellent, the audio is great, graphics are nice, voices are well done... Its what yould expect, creepy, a bit scary, an all around above average experience and FREE!... but its held back by the slow "arm swinging" only style of movement. So if you can get over that, give it a shot!
Played on Oculus Rift S: Moonlight Circus is a student game made by four students in a quarter of a year. The only reason I mention this is because I really strongly dislike this game. I probably shouldn’t be this salty about this game but I’m just gonna do a rapid fire list of all the issues/things I don’t like: -Terrible movement controls -Buggy grabbing -Clipping through every single piece of geometry -Having manual camera control on the stick -Cliche unengaging story -Not particularly scary and relies on jumpscares and noises in the distance -Opening and ending cutscene have out of control head movement which is disorienting I’m sorry to the developers who are likely to read this but I hope you see this as more constructive good faith criticism so you can improve on your next project.
