"...it looks like a fairly deep, personality-rich god game revival. Given that good god games are in woefully short supply these days, we should probably count our blessings here."

"The Mims: Beginning has become the latest indie hopeful to head down the crowd-funding route, popping up on Indiegogo. And it’s a bit of a looker, putting many so-called “AAA” games to shame with a visual style which brings to mind titles as diverse as Spore and Black & White."

"Everything in a game has been crafted in a gorgeous way. From creature to building, you will find the Mims to be one of the best indie games of the year 2014. "

no save system, some levels are made to just be annoying not challenging, some buildings don't seem to work the way you want them to. the fear zappers don't keep making the enemy run away making them useless, at least for when i used them on the level you get them.
3.5/10 trail and error kind of game. the tutorials hardly help at all on the other hand its free - cant save mid level and some of these drag on....... for like 30 to 45 minutes....
Wonderful gem of indirect control games. Art, music and sounds are beautiful. Every level differs from the others and is, actually, a puzzle one need to solve in order to proceed further. On the surface you have some farming sim with fruits, animals and gems. However the environment is mostly unfriendly in a different ways. You have to deal with carnivores, hunting your Mims, with time, balance of the energy, plague, madness... Even bosses are present. The only TWO points which you may dislike are: the inability to save within a single level (autosaves between) and the difficulty itself, sometimes very high and somehow depending on the random (like, for me, the "Ancient Gate"). Nevertheless, it's the beautiful, entertaining and complete game. From the charming visual style to the hidden secrets of a dozen levels - "The Mims" is amazing. P.S.: reminded me "Majesty", which also forces player to deal with the puzzle-like levels. P.P.S.: if you looking for something special with indirect control, check out "The Diggles".

I like this game! It's like the Black and White games mixed with Spore. It has a very good story which seems pretty long and it makes you use your brain, the little characters are fun to see and adds personality to it, also game has decent graphics as well. Overall I recommend this game if you're in need of something to pass the time.
