With storytelling in games, TV and movies currently in an unimaginably dark and dreadful place, this series felt like a light in the darkness. This was a truly heartfelt story that was immensely respectful to the lore and the world it was based in, and it really felt like the writers and everyone involved really wanted to live up to the legacy of the books and the characters involved. In the spirit of the series which really seems to enjoy songs and poems, I decided to compose this short little poem in honour of this game and the original series.
Though Sophia was struck by Drydich Fever, Liam knew that he could never leave her, So he knocked on the cold, forboding doors, And came face to face with Stoats- The Scrimpaws! Skilled though they were in the art of healing, Sophia's illness was still unceasing, So the only chance they knew of all, Was that ancient Abbey of Redwall. Through Marsh of Serpent and a Traitor's camp, The brave crew quested by the light of a lamp, Yet when they were in peril, they heard a call, Bringing help and reprieve from Martin of Redwall! And so our tale by the fire ends, Yet even now the path still bends, Towards that great Abbey that shall never fall, Come one, come all; you're welcome at Redwall!"
The controls are terrible. Weird start for someone recommending the game, but I just think you should have tempered expectations for the mechanics. But it is a wonderful little game and it feels like being in a redwall story. You are martin, mattimeo, gonf, luke, and mariel. It's amazing. The whole section where you're in the swamp and you're running from the rats while avoiding asmodeus and you can't see a damn thing because swamp is so tense and incredible. The puzzles are a lot of fun too
