I will admit, after playing Act 1 on release, I was very doubtful that Soma could continue their franchise. The gameplay was very buggy, as expected from a new developer, and it got so frustrating that I couldn't stand to play the game anymore. Fast forward a couple years, and to my pleasant surprise, Soma used their lessons learned from Act 1, and it shows here in Act 2 (They even vastly improved the gameplay through patches in Act 1!). Though there are some glaring bugs in the gameplay and level design, they're much less plentiful than Act 1 was upon release. Most notable were the lack of collision object which would allow you to fall through the world. In general, Soma are really applying themselves in making a great game with a great story for any Redwall reader. The addition of the dialogue mini-games were a surprise, but once you figure out the trick behind them, they're a breeze. Sometimes the lack of instructions make the progress frustrating, but for a puzzle platformer, it's to be expected. My advice is to always look around and find familiar objects to help you along. All in all, if you love the lore of Redwall, and a compelling story, and are a fan of the classic puzzle platformers of old, you'll enjoy this.
Cons: - Game movement and mechanics are a bit clunky and unpolished Pros: - Beautiful Graphics & Beautiful World - Fantastic Folk Music - Great Story + This one has me very surprised. Somehow the writers have done a fantastic job at creating an authentic 'Brian Jacques'-worthy story. - REDWAAAAALL!!!!!

If you liked Act I, chances are you'll enjoy this one too. The gameplay is essentially the same and, even if it isn't groundbreaking, it has the same charm and character as the first instalment. There are new characters with plenty of personality, including one based on an actual character from the Redwall book. The artworks are lovely as before and the soundtrack is great. Also I'd like to give the devs, Soma Games, some extra praise: though these Redwall games are sometimes a little buggy, Soma really make the effort to correct as many glitches as they can. They actively facilitate player feedback with a bug reporting option on the menu, and week by week they've been steadily patching as many issues as they can. A committed developer is one worth supporting! Good continuation of the plot. Nice puzzles and incredible artwork. Might suggest waiting to see if goes on sale, but $10 isn't bad. 8/10
Act 2 builds upon the foundation of Act 1 by adding more animation, a variety of new puzzle types (especially those utilizing the scent system), and a new dialogue system. It's also a smidge longer (roughly 2 1/2 hrs casually). Act 2 continues the tradition of having great characters, dialogue, and music. (Act 2 OST release when?) Quite an enjoyable game for those in love with the Redwall world.
Игра хорошая, но там очень много багов. На фоне Ghost of a Tale выглядит плохо.
I only recently started reading the Redwall book series again and it was on a whim that I discovered this game based on the beloved series. Aside from a few minor nitpicks like the looping dialogue that gets more annoying the more you hear it (especially when you're stumped and can't figure out what to do), there really isn't a lot to complain about with this game. It was a great experience from start to finish and I can hardly wait for part 3 to be released.
If you've played the first act and weren't sure about getting this 2nd act, the 2nd act is a step up. Everything is improved. This is a must-play for Redwall fans, and maybe even for those that like classic adventure games. The rougher (but still charming) first act is worth playing to get to this one. -The new character models look great (the mole and fat rat captain are my favorites) -The new non-mouse/rat voice acting is fun (The owl and again the mole) -The music is great and fits the setting (listen to credits song while you're here) -The cut scene art is more detailed (the concept art too) -The game/level design is much better (the stealth is not frustrating, and there's more mechanically to do; i.e. vents change wind direction for smells) -The new levels look great (especially the last level when the sun comes out) -The Redwall personality is exceptional (from the textures to the character animation) The only negative things I have to say are there are a few non-code bugs. -The camera clips through some walls one early level -Some ambient audio stops playing on the same early level -A crankable platform model in the last level doesn't match it's collider (maybe rotated off by 90 degrees; if the models were made in Blender and the Engine is Unity, there is an issue with the object axis and the FBX import) -Some voice lines are not the same audio quality as the rest
This is like a play through novel and they did a good job staying true to the world of Redwall. I love all the story details and the openess of the world. The personalities voices and dialects were well done as well. This is from the perspective of a book lover not a computer gamer. I got them because I love Redwall and am pleased.
