About

Key Features:
Three different classes of puzzles: digital, analog, and quantum
Optional levels of puzzle hints
A beautiful original soundtrack
Mysterious locations to explore and hidden secrets to discover
The Long Gate is a challenging and beautiful single-player, first-person, puzzle game. On a mission from the enigmatic creators of this place, you will explore ancient caverns filled with mysterious devices and traverse relaxing oases of nature while learning to solve the three primary types of puzzles that wind through them. Repair the ancient circuits and unravel the mystery of what happened to their creators.
Nearly all The Long Gate’s puzzles are based on real world technologies, and it contains accurate depictions of quantum circuits and a 4-bit quantum computer, verified by scientists at D-Wave Systems, the world’s first commercial quantum computer company. To progress through the game, you will learn the basic principles that form the backbones of each puzzle type. You do not need a technical background to finish the game, but if you have an interest in any STEM field these puzzles will be particularly interesting to you.
Levels and many puzzles can be completed in any order and many have more than a single possible solution for you to discover, and mastering a circuit type will provide keys to new areas and secrets. If you ever get stuck on a puzzle you can explore somewhere else, then come back later, or you can open the settings menu and turn on the hints.
The Long Gate also features an original soundtrack by musician Nick Newman.

The Long Gate offers an otherworldly dream like experience through some significantly tough puzzles. There is a lack of polish in some areas of the interface and controls, and if you choose to play without hints it might be difficult to distinguish ingenious or obtuse puzzle design. However, if you're a fan of this genre of games, The Long Gate is a unique, rewarding and wonderful journey.
Challenging and straight forward, non-stop puzzles for those who like to solve them for the sake of solving, don't expect a big reward for it!

Definitely the best game of 2020 . No bugs , hard puzzles , great atmosphere , nice easter eggs , enough game play and cool soundtracks . 10/10
I do not have a mind for analog or digital, but on the mode that gives hints and nudges and explains these concepts in a way I understand, Im truly enjoyng the game, I had to teach myself basic how to read binary into decimal, but it clicked for me. Recommended for anyone who really likes circuit boards, digital, analog, or quantum (havent gotten there yet though) in an interesting way. Theres some programming type puzzles I had to look up but just a nudge. VERY few walkthroughs out there. Some demo stuff and Iève seen one level playthrough so far but not the whole game.
An interesting computer/electrical engineering puzzle game. The puzzles are semi-difficult, but this is partially due to the inadequate tutorials and long walking distances. There is a little over 10 hours of content and 4 distinct puzzle types. The only bug I experienced was falling through the floor.
This game makes you feel galaxy brain. Gotta go for that engineering mode if you can.
This game is for you if you like challenging puzzles. I enjoyed it very much myself. Highly recommended.
Surprisingly polished: awesome world design, fair puzzles, great difficulty progression. I enjoyed this. It gave my brain a good workout. Compared to other games, I'd say this is a bit expensive, but on a 50%-off sale it'd be well worth it. On to the bad side: though the puzzles are polished, there are a lot of technical annoyances: as soon as you start interacting with puzzles your mouse sensitivity drops massively. It feels awful. Some puzzles had me picking up my mouse to move back to the other side of the mouse pad several times just to drag something half-way across the screen. Also, performance is bad: In some areas even a 3090 TI will fall below 50 FPS when shadows are set to High. Switch to Medium and suddenly it's smooth 120+FPS. The game physics seems to have a different frame-rate. Sometimes the graphics were at 120FPS but half the things on screen were juddering as if it were sub-30FPS. Sometimes I would enter the right input for a puzzle and it wouldn't be recognized because something was invisibly slightly out of place. Also, if you know anything about electronics or quantum computing, you'll find it a lot easier as the puzzles mostly resemble textbook exercises from those fields. I still enjoyed the brain workout despite it not introducing any new concepts to me though.
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
This is a puzzle game based on programming and circuit design, similar to the infamous Zachtronics games, but in 3D. The game is not nearly as polished and the puzzles are not nearly as good as the Zachtronics games, but it's still worth giving a try... ...Except for one major caveat that prevents me from recommending this game. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the mechanics of the game, THE GAME IS CURRENTLY BROKEN AND CANNOT BE BEATEN. One of the digital circuit puzzles requires one lane to be 'on' and another 'off' simultaneously, but they are connected, making that impossible. I've posted about it on the forums and even added the dev on Steam to report the issue, but still haven't heard anything back, forcing me to leave a negative review. Another major problem with the game is that many of the puzzles are just too big, leading to the difficulty coming from the size of the puzzles rather than any clever design. I could overlook this and still give the game a positive review, but I can't overlook the game-breaking puzzle above. If that is ever fixed, I'll update my review. [Edit] The above issue has now been fixed. I will update my review when I have time to try the game again.
