About

You wake up as a ghost, with no memory of who you were or how you died. The only clue to your past is the empty suit of armour you now possess.
As you explore an abandoned castle and piece together your memories, you’ll uncover your tale: A tale of broken promises, regret, and bonds that last beyond death.
But your story doesn’t have to die with you.

The Last Winter Knight is an atmospheric Gothic visual novel that features:
A melancholy story where you play as a ghostly knight haunting a suit of armour, featuring over 100k words.
Point and click segments that let you explore a lonely castle.*
Hand-drawn artwork that captures a dark fairy tale feel.
A pensive piano soundtrack that subtly shifts depending on where and what you examine.
Multiple endings to uncover: Will you remained trapped in your armour, or finally find peace?

The Last Winter Knight is 100% human made – mostly by one human, a solo developer who painted each frame, recorded and edited every track, typed every line of code and constantly agonised over word choices. Thank you so much for checking out this game and huge labour of love!
A special thank you to the people who helped make this project possible:
Wanpans Armoury for providing armour foley, playtesting and acting as a consultant for medieval arms, armour and general knowledge. There are many, many breaks from reality in this fantasy game, none of which are their fault.
Cobaye and Sammy L. for playtesting and moral support.
ArcanaXIX for the haunting cello performances.
n3ur0515 (Neur) for editing the trailer.
Jason Cura for additional last-minute audio assistance.
And friends and family and for their support.

The Last Winter Knight is a game I have been excited for for a good long while. From the original demo, the updated demo, to release; The Last Winter Knight has consistently been a treat to play time and time again, but the full story and ending itself was well worth the wait, Balancing both melancholic and touching, I would absolutely recommend for anyone who has some time to cozy up and experience all the twists and turns.
a complete joy to read with one of the best atmospheres i've experienced in any medium, compounded upon by the beautiful soundtrack.
This game was just hauntingly beautiful. The art was absolutely gorgeous and really carried across the melancholic gothic vibe of the game, plus the music was just amazing. I'm definitely getting the sountrack once I'm done writing this review! I've watched this game being developed over the past 2 years and it's so satisfying to see it in its final completed form, evolved from the demo I played back then. I won't spoil much but the writing was really good, with an intriguing mystery that gradually comes together and three characters that are each so distinct and tragic.
An absolutely gorgeous and heartrending game. The writing was beautiful and heartbreaking, the artwork was lovely, and the aspect of exploring lost memories by finding forgotten objects was more gratifying than I would have expected. 10/10 story 8/10 visuals 7/10 gameplay
What a gorgeously illustrated and written visual novel on perspective. I almost feel entirely redundant in repeating its steam store page words of "atmospheric", "gothic", and "pensive", but that's precisely what it was. The setting and characters are few, but through repetition in interaction with scenes, items, environments (which usually bothers me, but not here, because the pull to find truth in the mystery is so strong), an intimacy to plot and character development can unfold in a such way which strengthens the VN's themes. I kept clicking on objects to make sure I exhausted all relevant information! I'll be looking out for anything else made by ENDYSIS. It's a gem!
What a beautiful and heart-wrenching experience this game was, still can't fully believe that this was made by a solo developer. Bravo!
Absolutely beautiful story. The writing is magnificent, and it constantly surprised me. The art is stunning, and the gameplay is straightforward but rewarding. I can't believe this isn't more popular!!
This is an absolutely beautiful game, hauntingly so. I can't recommend it enough. It contains a tragic, sorrowful story (though hopeful at times, too) with multi-faceted characters that I was very invested in. Thoroughly investigating your surroundings and paying attention is something you get rewarded for and the choices you make will have consequences.
I absolutely love the games this creator makes! There's just something about the art style and the stories that are so immersive! First off, the soundtrack is beautiful and the sound is very fitting for the type of melancholy storytelling this game has. I really love the interactivity of the point and click. It would have been simple enough for them to have just told a story but they didn't. Their selection of things to click ranged from room exploration to scenes where a single object was the focus point of the scene, I liked that variety as well as the frost on the screen being removed when all has been explored. They mystery aspect of the story was done well too, It wasn't so obvious that you figured out the whole mystery within 10 minutes of the game but they gave you enough each time to make you keep speculating and growing theories and I absolutely loved that! Maybe it's the combination of the music, words, and imagery but the way this game is put together just makes the story feel very deep and meaningful. At this time I have already played the demo and have no doubt the full game will further improve my impression of this game.
