About

You wake up as a ghost, with no memory of who you were or how you died. The only clue to your past is the empty suit of armour you now possess.
As you explore an abandoned castle and piece together your memories, you’ll uncover your tale: A tale of broken promises, regret, and bonds that last beyond death.
But your story doesn’t have to die with you.

The Last Winter Knight is an atmospheric Gothic visual novel that features:
A melancholy story where you play as a ghostly knight haunting a suit of armour, featuring over 100k words.
Point and click segments that let you explore a lonely castle.*
Hand-drawn artwork that captures a dark fairy tale feel.
A pensive piano soundtrack that subtly shifts depending on where and what you examine.
Multiple endings to uncover: Will you remained trapped in your armour, or finally find peace?

The Last Winter Knight is 100% human made – mostly by one human, a solo developer who painted each frame, recorded and edited every track, typed every line of code and constantly agonised over word choices. Thank you so much for checking out this game and huge labour of love!
A special thank you to the people who helped make this project possible:
Wanpans Armoury for providing armour foley, playtesting and acting as a consultant for medieval arms, armour and general knowledge. There are many, many breaks from reality in this fantasy game, none of which are their fault.
Cobaye and Sammy L. for playtesting and moral support.
ArcanaXIX for the haunting cello performances.
n3ur0515 (Neur) for editing the trailer.
Jason Cura for additional last-minute audio assistance.
And friends and family and for their support.

Beautiful, both art and story
The Last Winter Knight is a game I have been excited for for a good long while. From the original demo, the updated demo, to release; The Last Winter Knight has consistently been a treat to play time and time again, but the full story and ending itself was well worth the wait, Balancing both melancholic and touching, I would absolutely recommend for anyone who has some time to cozy up and experience all the twists and turns.
I.. can't remember the last time I've cried this hard. The story and music so beautiful and gripping, and I'll honestly need a few more days to process everything. I was lucky enough to get the true ending on first try, and I'm so glad I did. The only thing extra thing I wish is included in the game is the gallery, because I want to traceback on the CGs I got but couldn't.

An absolutely gorgeous and heartrending game. The writing was beautiful and heartbreaking, the artwork was lovely, and the aspect of exploring lost memories by finding forgotten objects was more gratifying than I would have expected. 10/10 story 8/10 visuals 7/10 gameplay
An excellent VN about about grief, the cruelty of the world, forgiveness, and holding fast to love despite it all. If you have a heart, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Even beyond the writing, all aspects of music, sound design, and art were well crafted.
I think I've played almost all of Endysis's games in itch and in the comment section, I have poured my absolute adoration for his storytelling, music, and art. I truly think Endysis is a wonderful writer and this game solidified it for me. As I unraveled the mystery in this game, I felt like I wanted to die from sadness and grief. I felt so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. I loved all the characters and my heart broke with how tragically everything turned out. God, they deserved so much more. The game really built a beautiful tragedy that engaged with the reality of its setting. It did not shy away from ruining the romance of medieval times and in fact, worked to deconstruct the idea of a knightly hero. Allowing the players to constantly return to items also made the game like a puzzle. I got really excited whenever I came across a situation where I could use an item I saw before. But also, just the accompanying character introspection whenever you go back to an item is such a great way to flesh out their personality. Again, this game is so beautifully written. The art is also absolutely gorgeous but if you play Endysis's other games you'll know that is a given. As well as the music. No one makes melancholic, mournful tunes like Endysis. God, I love this game so much. Endysis, this is really amazing!!
A beautifully crafted game with a story that isn’t afraid to open old wounds or leave new ones. Far more content than I expected from a solo dev and a richer experience than I could’ve hoped for. Every sentence draws you in and I immediately wanted to learn everything I could about this world and the people in it. I’ll be coming back to this time and time again and thinking about it often. Do yourself a favour and play it.
When I first picked up The Last Winter Knight, I intended to play it over the next couple weeks as a calming wind down activity before bed... I did this for two nights and proceeded to binge the entire game because I NEEDED to find out what happened to the characters. The game did a great job of portraying lots of morally gray characters and making me care about and empathise with them. Also the game is really good at making me cry ;) If you enjoy beautiful bittersweet stories this game is a strong recommend!
I don't play visual novels. But I wanted to start giving them a try. And wow... I just finished this devastatingly beautiful story. Fantastic art and an amazing atmosphere combine to set a somber and melancholy story about love and loss. The tragedy of never truly knowing those around you, the assumptions we are driven to make, and how much we miss out on when we choose to leave words unspoken. It's been a long time since I've read a tragedy. This is one that will stay with me for a long time. 8.7 hours of story and I was lucky enough to reach the "True" ending of my first run. I will have to go back sometime to find the others.
