Modifica recensione dopo aver iniziato la versione a pagamento:questo ACT 1 lo troverete anche all'interno del gioco a pagamento,quindi questa versione gratuita potete considerarla come una DEMO.Durata?l'ho completato in circa 40 minuti,quindi non lamentatevi perchè è troppo corto,perchè il resto lo si vedrà nel gioco completo (rigiocando anche questo act 1).breve ma intenso posso dire.abbiamo a che fare con una specie di doppia grafica,una ben curata per il "mondo reale",come i paesaggi e il resto,e l'altra che pare uscita da un quadro di Picasso per il racconto.che dire.immergetevi in questo breve racconto con musiche ben fatte e una giocabilità molto intuitiva.è gratuito consigliatissimo,potrei dire di aver trovato l'inizio di un piccolo capolavoro

[b]Je m'voyais déjà en haut de l'affiche.[/b] Prologue gratuit du jeu complet En août 1976, une comédienne prénommée Ella revient en Angleterre après des années passées aux USA et retourne au Lindfield Theatre où elle a joué autrefois sous la direction d'un célèbre dramaturge, Robert Chardish, dont on peut écouter les enregistrements d'une interview qu'il a semble-t-il donné à la fin de sa carrière. Au coeur d'une forêt, on visite ce théâtre au bord d'un plan d'eau entouré de fleurs. Les lieux sont déserts mais ne semblent pas complètement abandonnés depuis si longtemps. A un moment, on découvre un masque qui nous emmène en 1957 pour y incarner Robert. Entre les deux époques, on passe d'une vue à la première personne (Ella) à une vue à la troisième personne (Robert) et le style graphique change complètement. Le gameplay reste très classique. L'environnement suscite la curiosité et invite à l'exploration mais, ne pouvant ni franchir le moindre obstacle ni nager, on doit se contenter de suivre sagement le chemin clairement indiqué. La progression est rythmée d'une part par la lecture de documents écrits et l'écoute d'enregistrements audio et, d'autre part, par la résolution de puzzles faciles en manipulant des projecteurs pour déplacer ombre et lumière afin de libérer des passages. Le jeu semble nous emmener dans une alternance entre réalité, mystérieux monde onirique, univers fictif et les souvenirs secrets d'une histoire à découvrir. Les différents aspects de la vie d'artiste semblent représentés un peu partout de manière symbolique. Le rêve d'une vie d'artiste, les silhouettes de mannequins anonymes, les projets ambitieux, le parcours labyrinthique dans l'ombre, les portes qui s'ouvrent, l'entrée sur scène en sortant des coulisses, le passage de l'ombre à la lumière, les projecteurs qui se braquent sur la vedette, l'escalier vers la gloire et la célébrité, la gestion du succès puis l'angoisse de sa disparition et d'un retour à l'anonymat. Cette démo dure moins d'une heure et je dois dire qu'elle donne bien envie d'acquérir le jeu complet.

Le jeu était bien parti avec des graphismes plaisants, mais à partir de la pose du masque, on se retrouve dans des décors de théâtre pas très jolis. Ensuite le gameplay est répétitif.

Well, it is the kind of game that it's not too bad I quit immediately, but it's not one that I will enjoy either. It has good graphics for the "present real" world and interesting art style for the "imaginary" world, like mimic a painting. Unfortunately, my poor average computer can't handle the graphics at highest settings without giving me a low frame rate. Music is ok, nothing I will remember after closing the game, or even while in the game. Game play is mostly walking simulator, collect/read some notes, some light puzzles for Chapter 1. The story fails to draw me in though, I don't feel the urge to know more about it. Clearly not for me.

Or is he rubbish?[/h1] [i]The Last Show of Mr. Chardish: Act I[/i] is a walking simulator sprinkled with light puzzles that takes place in the late 1900's involving an old actress revisiting her old stomping grounds one last time...to revisit a theatre and learn about what happened to your friend..an old director who has passed away.[i] The Last Show of Mr. Chardish: Act I[/i] is told through two aspects, Ella, the actress...and her viewing the director's perspectives of plays he's worked on by putting on respective masks from the plays he worked on. The art style changes completely from a beautiful realistic style to a surrealistic cell-shaded style as you enter the world of art...perhaps the mind of Mr. Chardish himself. Everything feels like it's fleshed out in detail...much to the point that my computer can't handle too much, leading me to tone everything down. Even then, there's still a lot of detail to observe.The real world aspect is pretty simple. Running from point A to B and viewing several notes along the way...though I don't see the benefit of taking the notes aside from keeping them in a journal...most of them seem pretty useless, though the hair tips some people may find useful. Ella will also play her tape recorder at various points to give you more story in the form of Mr. Chardish's final interview before expiring. The play world has audio files to give more lore behind the director's mind...along with creepy mannequin placements speaking in broken statements between Mr. Chardish and Ella, along with various other people. The story...well, I hate to be the bad guy, but I feel it's rather contrived. Using a recycled plot of "Old Friend dies, so I have to revisit this place one last time for nostalgia and to maybe solve mysteries of what happened". Despite the visual execution, the writing fails to grab my attention, especially in the play world, despite having symbolism everywhere. I noticed there were some writing faults here and there...missing punctuation, uncapitalized letters like when the word "I" is used, and some typos...but I guess I can forgive one of them since it was apparently written by a child...or child character in the world of the narrative. So, would I recommend [i]The Last Show of Mr. Chardish: Act I[/i]? I hate to be the bad guy, but I'm going to say no. The artstyles chosen are gorgeous and the developers put their heart and soul into it, but I found it to be boring. The art world's surrealism just seemed too strange for me (despite how pretty it is), and it seems to randomly stop your entertainment by throwing in a puzzle that you may need to think about, especially when you're focused on getting from point A to point B most of the time. This experience should last you 30-60 minutes and comes at the price of...well...free....it's a demo. I'm sorry, but I simply cannot recommend this unless you're looking for a free artistic game. 4/10 Despite the garnish, I cannot recommend Chardish...
