About
You're the last of your people. The last Mullu alive. You're backed up against the mountains and you need to fight for survival against the evil invaders. Use your companions for help, build towers, and duel hand-to-hand. Do anything you can to persevere.
Build and upgrade distinct towers to protect your base against waves of unpredictable enemies. Engage in melee combat with blocking and dodging mechanics to hold off foes in close quarters. Choose a companion animal with unique abilities to aid in battle - all set against a mountainous and coastal pixel art backdrop. Every playthrough will be distinct with randomized enemies and rougelike components. The numerous towers and companions allow you to test and develop different strategies every time they pick up the game.
About the developer:
My name is Bob - I am the sole developer here at Cylindrical Duck Games. I made The Last Mullu from scratch, including the pixel art (which took forever), and I hope whoever plays this enjoys it as much as I did making it. Reviews
Saw an ad for this game on a random light pole, which is a unique way of advertising your Steam game. That was a few months back and I forgot about it until just recently. It's... not a great game, but I can admire the attempt. The basic game loop is defending a tower using melee attacks and an animal companion (I'm not actually sure what it does aside from collecting money which is useful) against waves of enemies. The mouse is used for attacks and the keyboard for everything else. There's a dodge roll and a block for some reason, but I mostly ended up running around and hitting things. The controls are a mixed bad of being unnecessary or necessary but kind of poorly implemented. The visuals are very retro sprites which is cute but not particularly interesting, though some weather effects happen over the course of a playthrough which is a nice touch. The audio... is not great. There's some sound effects for attacks landing but for the most part I was listening to waves crashing. There is no music. All in all, it was three bucks not particularly well spent, but I admire the attempt from the creator. For what it's worth, the game itself doesn't appear to be buggy and the programming is competent. It's just not particularly fun. I hope the creator will continue to try making more games and improve their craft.
