I've paid money for less intricate and original point and clicks than this one. The now-finished product really delivers on the weird factor promised by the Drafthorse prelude as it was initially released. You wouldn't expect a game this silly to take itself too seriously, but the bizarre world it takes place in is actually a consistent one that never breaks it's own rules just for a gag. rather, much of the humour and weirdness derive from the natural consequences of the very strange setting. And the voice acting! for not having a single actual word spoken, this game puts a lot of effort into dialog. no KOTOR tricks with alien sound bites here; each line of gibberish is unique and worth listening to.
The Knobbly Crook has beautiful art and understandable gameplay mechanics but reminds me of classic point and click games with the difficulty. Although i do enjoy the game i give it a 7/10 i do highly recommend this game for people that are fans of point and click

Excellent Point and Click.
This game was fun and just the right amount of challenging. However, the level with the paper spider is unnecessarily hard. The controls for it are bad, making it much harder than it should be. Overall, the game is decent, though, and you should give it a go.
This game is a rare gem amoungst many meh free point and click adventures, but its a very rough one to recommend since ch.2 drastically got harder but even despite that the game has a lot going on for it. The Atmosphere is just phenomenal, you could tell a friend who played p&c adventure games in the past that this is one of those old schools ones and he'd believe you. You genuinelly feel like you went on a lil adventure(with a cliffhanger ending very reminisce of how many classic p&c adventures tease the sequel) and the atmosphere is upheld by everything, the sound design, the puzzles, character design, map design, story, it really makes ya want to avoid looking up walkthrough to avoid spoilers! The gameplay itself is also amazing, especially first chapter, there was genuinely barely if any slowdowns due to confusing solutions, although be warned you may get stuck because you didnt use action button on something, almost every time I had an urge to check out spoilers was because I forgot to press action on something, so another good thing about the game is that it didnt inherit Sierra's puzzle logic, most solutions makes sense and even if u look it up you'll probably curse yourself for not realising it. Another roadblock you might encounter gameplay vise is not paying attention to text, at the end of ch1 you'll have to find, creative approach to escape the ship, I won't spoil it but the way you do it is so fitting for this game, and it felt rewarding realising I didnt just inspect stuff for no reason and near the end of ch2 there's one of the totems that requires you to acquire his item and pray you didn't forget the dialogue with certain paper character. Lastly humour and especially lore of the game also adds a lot to the atmosphere, they dont just throw wikipedia at you and you organically learn more about this world simply by talking with different characters or solving puzzles. There are some downsides to this game as well but nothing too major besides maybe difficulty spike in ch2(not sure if it can be fixed, the way you use marshmallow stickon x character isnt obvious ig? but the rest I dont see how you can simplify and its maybe skill issue on my part). One major dowwside the dev hopefully can fix is how slow the movement is, it really harms the gameplay when you confused on what to do and constantly slowly walk from screen to screen, the game should either give you a way to fast travel to other locations(like how The Land of Crow does it, another free gem p&c adventure) or make your character teleport to the exit screen by double clicking on it, or make the character move faster by default or by double clicking, it really can harm the enjoyment of the game(hope the devs sees this constructive criticism despite positive review). Also not sure if positive or negative but there's no voice acting, well the characters do talk but its very similar to how Banjoo Kazooie characters talk, it does add its own charm ig and its cool how certain words are emphasized but I get its not for everyone TL;DR Positives: -Old School p&c adventure feel and experience -Gameplay is mostly logical so no Sierra games logic needed to complete it(especially ch1) -Music is pretty impressive and captivating for a free game, surprised theres no free soundtrack for this game -Humour is solid althought I get its not for everyone(at least it doesnt feel modernist so thats a huge plus in preserving old school feel) Mixed: -Story is mostly good but again the ch2 can drag just a tad which might sour your experience -Difficulty, again ch.1 is near perfect where you'll probably be mostly fine but man ch.2 had occasional hic ups(reminder, always try to use action on items in the world, most of the stops happened because I forgot to press action on some item outside inventory) Negatives: -No map or fast travel or teleport to exit screen on double click aka you might waste a decent amount of time just walking from screen to screen trying to find the solution(even IF you use guide youll probably walk a lot, hopefully this issue can be addressed somehow) So yeah, feel free to check it out because it was definitely a passion project with tons of effort put into it althought if you didn't like ch.1 and struggled a lot with it then you might not like ch2.

Where is chapter 2?
This game is fun, the puzzles are engaging, and the dialogue is...colorful to say the least.
Fun adventure! Loved the graphics.
