The Killer

Another title in a series of short and basic horror indie that would fit better as part of the publisher’s horror anthology bundle. Disclaimer: This game is similar to the publisher’s other titles. It runs on the same engine, has the same mechanics, and sometimes even shares assets. That’s why the same review – except for the story – can be applied to all titles. The first thing you'll notice is that when you start the game for the first time, it will download additional resources. It takes a few minutes and does not mention what the download includes. I am assuming it is the Yahaha horror kit, which is an engine that powers all Yahaha studios games. The plot is basic. One night, while returning home from work, a crazy doctor rushes out of an alley and drags you to his playground. You wake up in a cell and must solve a few simple challenges to get free. This is simple because it involves picking up items and placing them in the appropriate locations. While things and notes are not highlighted, the appropriate locations are marked when you hold the correct item in your hand and get close enough. Each of the four chapters takes place in a distinct location, yet they are all very short and last only a few minutes. In fact, you can finish the game in around 30 minutes or less. This is why I recommend the game only at a heavy discount. The base price is too high for such a short experience that doesn't even have a proper conclusion. Because the publisher has numerous similar games (five at the time of the review) from different developers, they may work better as a single anthology or bundle game instead of a single game. The bundle might also be offered at a better price because buying them seperately is far too expensive.

Однако загадки совершенно неинтересны и просты, графический стиль мучает глаза, а атмосферы саспенса или опасности нет вовсе. Под конец игра меняет концепцию, что, возможно, уместно для истории, но в плане геймплея делает процесс ещё скучнее. Проходится всё это минут за 20-30 и не оставляет никаких эмоций, тем более история незавершённая и должно быть продолжение. Если вы любите короткие хорроры с минимальным качеством — лучше поискать что-то другое.

Great concept for a game that either was a "jam" type development or just simply ran out of resources to continue on. The story, while it has an interesting twist at the end, just goes from nothing to something in the last 10 seconds of the game. There were a couple of jumpscares which were well placed. The puzzles were not very imaginative/difficult at all. Seemed more like chores than puzzles. Overall, if you're looking for a good horror experience, check it out. If you wanted a more fleshed out horror game with a complete story and longer than an hour, keep looking.

Rather short (15-20 min) game with 3 playable chapters that got me good with two of the jump scares and had some nice and creepy vibes in the middle part. In this format it has the quality of a good GameJam entry that still has potential to grow. If the developers keep up the spirit shown in this game and improve their style, we can expect some nice horror games in the future. Bought it for 2.79€ on the initial sale.

there were some fun ideas and mechanics in the game, nothing too scary, but it was suspenseful enough for what it set out to bve. it was rather short, but that was advertised, and i'd compare it to a good episode on a suspense series that should be fleshed out into a feature-length movie! i bought the game as part of a bundle.

ONLY 4 CHAPTERS ARE YOU SERIOUS.... TO BE CONTINUED... I FELT MANLY SOLVING EASY PUZZLES Had a few jumpscares.plot twist i killed the killer in a illusion that seemed to be just a dream. please finish adding the rest of the game. as it is not finished.
