The Jester is a 45 minute long indie horror walking simulator where you walk around a house and solve a few minor puzzles while "The Jester" teases you and gives you a jumpscare every 10 minutes or so. There is not much else to the game, it just throws you right into the fire without any story or explanation. + The game has an unnerving and disturbing aesthetic throughout. + One of the puzzles was original and fun. + Multiple endings, both disturbing. + Creepy sound effects and background noise. - The doors / levels do not connect or make sense. - No real story. - A few of the character models and jumpscares look cheesy. - There are way too many filters going on graphically, hurts and strains the eyes. Even when you turn off all the filters in the settings there are still many on the screen somehow. I'm not sure the settings even work. Try it if you want for a buck or two but it ain't anything special! Overall: 6/10
The VHS effect needs to be optional that made the experience already hard to get through from the beginning. Do not even get me started on the ball maze section. That was unbearably annoying. Definitely needs some more TLC. not the tv channel but tender love and care. also the house is a very common asset flip from other horror games so that was a little lame.

Hey :) Let's talk about this game and I will try to be as polite as I am able. This is not what I will recommend. - this is not a horror. I wasn't scared any single time. Mostly annoyed with some moments. - this is not a exploration/adventure game, I think, this is not even a game. Because there is no story, no explanation, no motivation (well, I had one - to finish it quickly). I've had no idea who main hero is, what he was doing and what is about other characters. Nothing. - the sounds are a bit.. meh. Don't create any tension. - many parts are dark. I don't understand why some devs think "the darkness means scary". Sorry, I don't afraid of darkness. At least, not in this game. Maybe someone will tell "ohh, this is the first game, they will learn and make it better the next time". Okay, I don't mind if they do. I don't want to discourage from learning, and this is why I wouldn't put a negative review. But it doesn't mean I should pretend and praise it. Many devs created awesome games for their first time. Alone, with little money in their pockets. I've seen really amazing projects. Bit not this time. Sorry for honesty.
idk what all the postitive reviews are talking about, this game is hot ass.
I think this game is freaking awesome. It's basically exactly what I'm looking for in a horror game. It wasn't long, confusing, or plagued with a ton of notes to read. It was just scary, and that's the most important thing. I did have problems with it though. The settings reverted back to default on me. All of the keybinds didn't remap like they should have. The adjustable FOV was all sorts of messed up, and the default gfx quality setting were all low and changing them to max basically made no change to fps, so the optimization isn't great in that regard. That said, the game is very playable, especially if you're the type of person who doesn't change every single setting. I got well over 60fps with a 6900XT, and my friend with a 3060 got it playable using Lossless Scaling. That is pretty disappointing with a Unity game honestly, but compared to all of the terribly optimized UE5 games out there, this ran quite well. I don't want all of my critiques to make it sound like I think this is a poorly made game. It's not the best technically, but it's also not a bad experience, and the gameplay makes all that stuff totally worth it imo. https://youtu.be/hkr2_nwg6go
This is a good walking sim horror game. There are both inside and outside sections to the game (the inside section is in a house that is very familiar if you've played alot of this type of game) and everything was very well done with a very controlled . Kudos for adding some fun 'skill' games which are very doable. I thought they were fun. Also, I think this game went for a horror experience without over relying on jump scares. Short but recommended.
Really good jump scares and great atmosphere, an actually refined horror game and not just another lazy cash grab. Personal Rating: 9.5/10 Would Recommend.
I was looking for indie horror games to pick up as I want to see how fun they can be and this one impressed me. Its a short and sweet game with no dialogue and seemingly no story but with well a well crafted atmosphere and jumpscares this game still stood out to me. I will be checking out whatever the creator puts out next
Nice Walking Sim Horror! Jumpscares were great! Trying to play this without cursing out loud was difficult. I'm not sure what happened but trying to stream this was pretty difficult, I had to drop the frame rate to 30 and the resolution to 720p which made the code puzzle almost impossible. Could there be some room for some optimisation?
