such a compelling concept and really good for most of the runtime. there was a particular"♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" moment that made me lock in and i was hooked. the limited presentation is clever and cool as hell. but then the final 5 minutes of the game are a huge let down and i feel like i've wasted my time. like, is that really it? this grand mystery ends with a wet ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fart. on the level of roottrees or obra dinn it certainly is not!
An excellent remake of an already excellent game. I bought this to support the devs since I loved Type Help so much, and even though much of the game was as I remembered, eventually a whole new mystery started to unravel. Absolutely a must-buy!
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Proly 10 of the most fun hours I've had in quite some time. The story was creative and had me locked in. The controls were simple and intuitive. I could have avoided clues if I had read a little more closely but the entire thing ran so smoothly and I loved the writing. I lost count of how many times I would say "wait, why would she say that, what the hell?" only to have two scenes later spell it out for me. Absolutely great work on this. Highly recommend!
This is a great puzzler! There's a real sense of satisfaction when you figure out something, but you can use the hint system without any penalty if you need any help. I highly recommend using the in-game notetaking system to keep track of everything.
Exceptional game. My wife and I played their first game, The Roottrees are Dead. We really enjoyed and decided to give this one a try as soon as it came out. What an experience. Just play it for yourself.
Pro: + The incident at Galley House has some of the best writing currently on the market, be it the overall INCREDIBLE story, the characters, each of them memorable, with distinct, well defined personalities or the overall 'lore' around what happens in the house, its all 11/10 + The Mistery its so enthralling that it will grab you the moment you read the sentence 'What happened really?' near the photo of the house and will not leave you even after the end credits + The mechanic of the 'machine' you find yourself using are addicting to say the least, thanks to the masterpiece of a story you find yourself in, it is impossible to resist the urge to to pull that lever one more time + The most perfect blend of Mistery and Horror i've seen in any narrative ever, its just pristine in execution Con: Can't think of any, really... The Incident at Galley House has been one of the most incredible surprises of this year, a game that i have no problem in calling a masterpiece and for the sake of every mistery lover i will say no more but play it, just play it and you will never regret it, just make sure you get into it completely blind, don't read about it, don't check comments on it, don't watch any playtrough...go completely blind. Must play for every mistery and horror lover 10/10
Amazingly fun game. Story was gripping and powerful. All of the scene connections were relatively easy to figure out, and the twists were brilliantly done. I can't remember anything else that you'd want to know before buying this game.
Albeit different from Roottrees, I think this is another excellent entry into the deduction genre. I'm only 3 hours in as things are starting to get meaty and my notes are building out - as expected - the balance of deduction and available information, as well as needed guesswork and trial and error, are phenomenally constructed here. After a couple steps training you how to think, the game really allows logic to flow and the depth of the machine tech really allows for that
